Directly, no. 200whp would be around 235hp at the crank.

However, he's looking at the delta between the two numbers. 140whp is very low. There's no way this car has a 30% drive line loss. Think around 15 to 20. So let's say 17%.

200 * 0.83 = 166whp. This is right around what most stock dynos have seen.

So let's determine the percentage difference between Bullet's dyno and our number.

166 / 140 = 1.186

Now we adjust their final number.

200 * 1.186 = 237whp

Finally we remove the driveline loss.

237 / 0.83 = 286hp at the crank (give or take a few)

We don't have 100% confimation that this was without the intercooler, but if it wasn't then 300hp at the crank is concievable with an intercooler and E85. And is with a torque curve that looks like it came from a big V8.

I posted a very similar calc, but deleted it when I went back and saw their extremely low baseline understood why the 280 was mathematically right. Thanks for the help! Its funny because I was doing it with 165 whp as baseline and you used 166, so at least you confirm I'm not crazy

That's probably the Dyno Dynamics. Supra guys refer to it as a ’tuning' dyno.

Given a net gain of ~60 whp from baseline, that should be no less than 260 crank.

How much boost are they running?

LOL. I'd think they'd be even more interested in power output if they want to out run Lord Umungous.

I think Draco-Rex explanation is spot on. I'd say 240-245 crank HP is where its at.

So... the magic number we should be looking for is 250whp.

Still maintaining hope. This still remains the thing that could convince me to void my powertrain warranty early. I want to see an intercooled one pushed hard by Visconti on E85...
It's probably the same people that buy a car without test driving it.

I was supposed to test drive it first?! I thought it was like women, you have to marry them first before you can have sex right or did I do it wrong?!

That might explain the 18 wives and 26 cars.

SO much speculation. I think this kit is going to make a lot of us happy. You can always modify the pulley size, tune mapping, etc. I really like the linear power curve and the feeling of full boost right away is attractive. I'd love 270-280 at the wheels, but I'd be happy with 230-250. Anyways, sorry for adding another meaningless post to this thread.

Even if the peak number is not very high, I expect this kit to provide the kind of torque curve that will be much faster & more fun on the street. I haven't found that PD blowers provide a huge bump at the top of the rpm range, and that is where peak HP numbers are made. It is the entire rev range before the top that is dramatically improved.

All of the guys looking for a high TQ number relative to HP will get closer to what they want with this kit I believe.

I agree with you on the aspect of power for this vehicle.

I want 3 BRZs. One all-motor N/A. One supercharged. One turbocharged.

This thread has just gotten funny. Based on original ETA, and lack of producing this unit for everybody.

I went out and bought the Vortech. You snooze you loose.

No regrets
