It's a standard transmission that gets the better fuel mileage. You must be new to cars to assume it's the other way around.

Also, AT's in economy cars will always be slower than their manual counterparts.

All this talk about changing the rear gears to even things up is dumb. You can do the same with the stick - then what? lol.
Hahahah sometimes I wonder what I read on here... The last two gears... Fifth and sixth on the auto is under driven more the the manual.. So yes the auto gets better fuel mileage.. I'm constantly around 38 hwy and 31 city.. Where as the standard get around 31 on the highway.. Most cases the standard does get better but in this case, with this car.. The auto is better in regards to fuel mileage.. Every know that if you mod two cars the same then the standard will be faster.. But if the standard doesn't have the gears then the auto will be a lot closer to a stock manual.. I personally won't do it.. I like my car the way it is, the fuel mileage down to I can shift when I want or let the car do the shifting.. It only matters during a drag race, which I don't do.. We made the video for the forum.. And at the track, at least at the streets of willow I don't see it holding me back at all. I was just a bit over 5 seconds slower then a world class driver randy pobst, for the first time I was every there and first time ever in a car on a track.. So at that track at least, I don't see the auto holding me back

Don't you have another Honda forum to pester? I'm still puzzled as to why you are even here.

Before you start running your mouth, I suggest you do your homework and read a little about the car you seem to know "so much about" but yet, do not own.

How in the world are you pulling off 31 mpg in the city??? I baby the car just to stay above 24 mpg in the city and I'm really gentle on the go pedal. On the hwy I have no problems seeing numbers way above the EPA stated number of 34 and do regularly see 36 - 38. You seem to have similar mods I do too.

Totally agree with you. In theory the AT shouldn't hold you back at all on a road course or autox for that matter.

I also agree. In fact, I'm putting my money where my mouth is March 24th at Barber Motorsports Park.

There has been a few tests by well known magazine editors showing that, indeed, the 6AT in our cars aren't much, if at all, a crutch on the road course. I don't know what the big fuss of it is.

A buddy of mine has been talking about some Mugen turbo CRZ and how quick it's supposed to be. Once that hits the show rooms and is proven to be faster than the twins the world will come to an end as we know it.

I have no idea.. I usually shift as soon as I can.. And I don't rave off the line.. Granted my city driving is very limited.. Most my driving is highway.. I don't drive all grandma ish.. But I'm pretty easy.. My last tank of fuel was from a trip to Vegas and back.. The highway I got 37 because of a mountain pass, but could cruise down the back side for quite awhile.. Then when I got there it was a lot of city driving and then a good little drift session.. And a cruise up and down the strip twice and the fuel meter never dropped under 33 so as I'm usually 1.5 off I was around 31.5 with all that.. Then going up the pass back and then living high elevation.. It was at 38 so around 36.5 or so.. When I filled up that tank got me 36.8.. So far I've been super lucky and have no problems with the car

Even IF that car was to be offered on US soil, I wouldn't give it much of an afterthought. It could have 400whp and it would still be a FWD Honda.

Not hating on Hondas since I dearly love the S2000s and NSXs but the CRZ? Not what I would call a sports car.

Once the TRD and STI version come out, order will be restored.. I've seen only one CRz in my life.. Every once in a while one is here at the apartments.. Other wise I've never even noticed one.. I get enough hate for people that drive 2000 style Grand Prix and old pos civics, that I own a girl car.. It doesn't bother me with my age.. If I was younger I'd probably be doing what ever I could about it.. Nitrous, turbo, something to win at that stop light.. But now I just really couldn't care

We can carry this over to PM if you want to discuss my choosing AT over MT. I'm not going to hijack this thread.

I see. I can see that happening. Even for me, if I fill up and get on the hwy for long trips I regularly see 36 - 38. Even after that if I do some city driving the mpg doesn't go down by much at all and I'll see averages of 32 - 34. If I do my usual, which is fill up and do mostly city miles then I'll usually see 24 - 25 even if I hop on the hwy half of the time. Since it's not for long term the average doesn't go up by much at all.

Beats me.. I haven't seen real proof of either.. Tho I did see some "TRD" version for the UK I think on Facebook.. The race of celebrities or what ever its called is suppose to run rear wheel drive cars for the first time ever.. Or beloved FRS.. It said something about 210 hp.. I'm sure that's at the crank.. Everything I hear is that it will NOT be turbo charged.. That I believe Tada said no turbo.. But he said anything that comes out on the cars will be able to fit on our current ones.. The STI on the other hand, always have rumors about a TC, but I guess we will have to wait and see
