I wish there was a way to alert someone that they left the car running and took the key with them. We had a lady drop her Outback off for an inspection sticker, took the smart key with her, went gawd knows where for 20mins, and left a technician sitting there with a car that he couldn't start after shutting down. Only a couple downsides to the smart key, but otherwise a really cool feature IMO.

Pulled into work, shut the car off, turned the lights OFF (I usually flick them from auto to off then back to auto), then opened the door. No beep. I must do something differently when I get home from work.

I get the beep all the time in the winter. Start car get out and lock the door manually to let the engine and interior warm up before leave. Yep, a reminder that you left with the key when the car is still running.

That's a different beep. There's a loud beep that happens every few seconds if you leave the car running and walk out of range with the key. The one I'm discussing (that I thought this thread was about) is a very annoying beep that happens every second to half-second when you shut the car off.

Mine only beeps if the keys are left inside and it doesnt lock. Do you guys forget to grab keys? I just leave mine in my pockets no beeping problems here.

Mine beeps any time I open the door before I turn the ignition off. Its rare that I do that but its annoying when it does. I just reach over and push the door pin once to stop it.

Pretty sure if you park without the parking brake applied it beeps. Something like that
