If R1000 is available, highly recommend to change your oil and not to mix grades.
If you have no option, stick with 0w20 until your first service. Just ensure what ever you use, it is fully synthetic.
It may actually be beneficial to purchase the 1l from Toyota keep the slip and if there are any issues, you will be under warranty, as you purchased from Toyota and used there recommended oil...

They won't give you 0w20, only oil they have is the 5w30 for the 86.

If you don't need any oil yet, I'd wait till 7000km and do a oil and filter change to 5w30 and keep a liter of top ups. Cost is R900, just make sure the dealer you go to quotes you express 30min labour. If you have not done more than 1000km leave the oil filter in and just do the oil, sure that would be half the price.
If you choose to do it sooner, no harm.

I wouldn't chance it, I'd have them do an oil change at my first service with the new oil, then top up with it as required.

It's a pity these threads get so long, but if you read upfront, the options are detailed.
I logged the call with TSAM and they cam back to me in writing. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER OIL BUT TOYOTA APPROVED.

I'll probably be a bit nervous when my car goes in for its first service. There's always that thought at the back of your mind - what if they screw it up because they see that it's diesel oil, and don't use it?

My dealership knows me well enough. I even stood and supervised the oil change, made the mechanic wash hands and was not allowed in my car with his overall....
LOL.
