It's funny how people are suddenly expert auto journalists who know the correct way to shoot a video review. A guy is entitled to his opinion. No matter how many ways you try to prove his opinion wrong, it's futile because you can only disprove facts (not opinions). If you already stated how your opinions disagree with his opinions about the car, why can't you leave it at that? Now we're debating over a guy's internet hyperbole and flair? Where's the point in that? Is it necessary to attack the person? I'm having a hard time figuring out what else you're all trying to prove. Please help me out here. This seems to be escalating into a pathetic circle jerk in which everyone is jockeying for some cred. Until you shoot a video response showing us your "correct" way to review, I say Dezoris has far more interwebz cred than you.
I thought the review was pretty funny. The problem is that a lot of products have fixed characteristis. If you don't like them, you really need to move on and not complain for years at a time. I know people in some camera forums who have complained for over a decade about certain camera systems. Think about that. A decade!! (And they've still going at it. "How come Nikon won't make a 400mm f/4 lens for me??) You've then got the guy who wants a mid engine Corvette--or a twin turbo v-6 vette and can't let it go that Chevy isn't interested. Or you have the new Mustang owner who wants to know what mods to do to make his Mustang handle like a Corvette---uh, get a Corvette, maybe? At some point you realize the product isn't what you thought it was. At that point it's best to sell and think of the loss as the worlds cheapest rental fee and move on to a product whose fixed characterists are more to your liking.

As much as I thought I wanted this car, I'm leaning more towards a WRX every day. Same amount of money, AWD, more usable space, and it will set you back in your seat.

And what if they gave us 20 more hp to wheels. You'd still have people saying....well it could still use a litttttle bit more to the wheels. Everyone always wants more more more. Thats why stock mustangs with 420 hp have super charge kits that you can still buy--because people JUST WANT MORE.
As everyone has said, if your ego takes a hit when someone gets off a line faster than you, you should look into other cars.
I'm not saying there aren't areas to improve, i'm just saying people should stop talking about how our fish can't climb trees.

Holds its breath/water?

And frankly, I keep my racing to anywhere but streets. In the case of passing, and someone suddenly decides be a **** and go NASCAR, I will usually slow down and get back behind. If the person wants to be in front, and keep that higher speed, good for them. I'll just pass them going 70 when they have to slow down to 50 on that highway on-ramp.

There is apparently a big anti-FRS crowd. Then there's people who don't like Scions and people who don't like imports. The videos where people are complaining get more attention anyway. Whether it's pro-FRS people saying "hey look at this asshole" or anti-FRS people who watch it because it supports their beliefs, a video like this will get around.

I believe the word for a video like this is "trolling" lol. The reason why it offends so many people is because it comes across as bullying the car. If I made a video where I talked about only negative points of a Mustang or Camaro, of course those communities would be offended too. FRS owners aren't mad because what he's saying is true, they're mad because he's being a **** about it.

I'd also say that he has to work on his delivery. As a viewer who isn't familiar with him, my first (and only) impression is that he's just negative. I don't really have any reason to be on his side emotionally. People are saying that the video is sarcastic, which is fine, but in my opinion a video that is just one long sarcastic joke is just annoying to watch. Imagine if someone from the Top Gear trio made a negative review about the FRS. I imagine that would still be enjoyable to watch because I have respect for them and they understand delivery of jokes and use of sarcasm.

Now I understand why you can't tell the difference between contempt and sarcasm. Your reading comprehension skills are in desperate need of improvement. Since you're having so much difficulty, I will break my position down into smaller bullet points the way I do for my more "basic" clients.

- I have not disputed any claim or point in his video. Just its purpose.
- If you post something on a public forum, be prepared to defend it. Nobody can be expected to "respect" anything in a public forum.
- I merely pointed out posting a video such as this on an FRS fan site serves no purpose other than to incite people. He's done this before, and he's stated before that he is amused by the comments it generates.
- How long he spent on his video is not my or anyone else's problem.
- People get upset and rant on the internet about $1.99 apps all the time and you think someone wouldn't be upset after spending $25k?
- I never said he was out of line for being upset, in fact I wouldn't blame him.
- I have no interest in "cred", nor do I try to represent myself as an automotive authority. For example: Just because I am not a professional journalist does not mean that I can't (or shouldn't) call someone out who is trying to pass themselves off as one.
- Don't use the letter "z" in instead of an "s" in any word at any time when trying to make a point. It serves the same purpose as wearing your hat pointed sideways and only keeps people from taking you seriously.
- I'm glad you're cool with being the butt of my jokes, but, I am not joking with you.

That's all I'm going to say to you because I realize the futility in arguing with stupid. I wish you the best though.

haha unbias review that focus only on the negatives and makes nbig atempts to belittle a car with exaggerated remarks. While I agree with the cars shortcoming which I think if they ever released a Higher spec model they could resolve I mean this car is still brand new.

Worst than a Honda Fit. You serious?

http://gtcarlot.com/data/honda/Fit/2...-69302570.html

Had you not been trying so hard to get views I would agree with most of your points to an extent and in the end even though you are soo "nasty" on your FRS you own it and aren't selling it so that's a endorsement

Also show me a 1st year car with no issues?

GTR first year couldn't use lanch more than twice without blowing your 20K tranny

All new Fords with 1.6T were if you drive your car might catch fire

I think I can deal with dips and crickets instead

Dezoris:

Thank you for this breath of reality around here. The car is fun. It is a good car with a lot of flaws. It is far from a "Great" car as delivered this first model year.

Hardrock4445 posted:

..."Driven one yet? Get ahold of me in the spring when the car is out of storage and lets go for a ride. "...

Winter storage means that it is not a "Car", it is a "Toy" that is not up to the rigors of year round use. I can vouch for this. I don't have the option of storing it for winter (Already have a bunch of shitbox MGs and Sprites in the nice warm garage) so I will have to live with an FRS in winter. Ironic that one of the tipping points for buying the FRS over the Miata was "It HAS to be a better winter vehicle right?" As it turns out, I would not recommend this car to anyone who lives where the weather might go near freezing.

To all the haters of this video, relax, be secure in your purchase, it does not matter what others think of your toys. I think Dezoris pretty much nailed the owner experience for a significant number of people; it can kind of suck at times, but at least he is still laughing. If you are not one of those who has suffered a few tribulations, then good for you.

Actually, he fully embraces and articulates on where the big anti-FR-S crowd stands. It completely lures them in using empathy. No sugarcoating which is exactly what they want to hear. Then he flips their stance on its head.

He doesn't need fans of the car to be fans of his videos because (as evidenced by all of our comments) we will hard headingly downplay all his criticisms and defend our cars regardless. He just needs us to view his video (a given); dialog between the pro and anti crowds becomes inevitable.

Then we thought: Should we climb a tree that is taller than the banyan?

You know what we did then? We did a lot of research. We talked to other fish, crazed salamanders, real mussels and other molluscs around the world. They told us: Climbing isn't everything. If it’s just an incredibly tall tree, they don’t really want to climb it. What they want to climb is a tree that is short, near water and has a rough bark.”
+10 points to anyone who can pinpoint the quote.

I don't get what the hate is about. The review was just an honest review. I read the comments before the video and said to myself " oh what a douche, probably just talking crap about the car". Then I watched it, and didn't get that at all from him. What I got from him was dispite all the little and big problems with our car, the man still enjoys driving it. With all that hate going his way, you would think he was doing "yo momma" jokes about everyone's moms.
Good review bro, thanks for taking the time to do this.
Luckily for me I haven't got any of those problems, aside from the crickets. I'm way past 10k by the way.
