This is exactly why I bought the A/T. I can always use paddles or the stick if I want more manual control.

My best tank was just over 31 mpg on a road trip out west with cruise set to 80 mph.
I usually get from 190 to 210 miles a tank (~10 gallons) weekly... but I'm running thicker oil and max performance tires, and more concerned with driving fun than fuel economy.

Try resetting your mpg avg and starting fresh, maybe the car idled an extremely long time at the dealership before you picked it up? Im just stabbing in the dark here. |

With me, my guess is that my commute probably averages between 45 and 55MPH most of the time with minimal stop and go. In my 40 mile on-way commute I probably spend less than 10 minutes at full idle on most trips. I can see dips in the overall MPG when I have excessive traffic in the week. I think I'm just sitting in the sweet spot for the engine/tranny combo.

Well I go 1km from home to the train station every morning. And been able to make a tank last a week. Or about 750km. It's not hard to find a reason to go on a long drive in Calgary. But with having to warm up during cold snaps I could make it go farther. Probably burn more gas warming up than I do driving to and from "work".

BTW: when I fill up and do the manual calculation my Avg MPG readout is consistently .7-1.3 mpg high compared to real world calculation. I always reset my avg mpg readout with every fillup. On a clear traffic time of the day I can drive from Everett to Puyallup (about 70 miles) and get 36-37mpg with my right foot doing 60-65mph. Not the data you wanted to look but I hope this helps.

My best ever was coming back from Laguna seca and filled up in this city on top of a pass, there was a lot of traffic, but I got 58 on the readout all the 100 and so miles here.. But it was 55 or less all down a long straight mountain road downhill.. |

I thikn I'm in the 34-36mpg camp. I can hyper-mile her when I'm on the highway and traffic is sucky.

Oh... there's the problem... you guys are cruising at 60-65.... yea I'm cruising 75-80... cause I'm getting 340 per tank hwy 290 per tank city.
