Long Commute? WHo has gone the furthest on 1 tank?

I didn't buy the BRZ for its mileage, but its nice that it does get decent mileage from all reports. My current Yaris won't get me to work all week (800 kms/week) on 1 tank of gas (40L) probably due to my foot more than anything.

Curious if anyone particularly with MT is getting anywhere close to that on a tank?

I get about 230-240 on a tank. Mostly city driving

Asphaltfrs1 02-03-2013 10:21 AM

The most I've gotten is like 335 miles to the tank. Mostly highway miles and not driving it like a grandma for a bout 25% of the time. 6 m/t

345

90% highway

I went 311.6 on my first tank during the break in.

I would say I average about 280?

Edit: to help your math, your Yaris is doing 47 MPG, and your 86 is never going to compete with that unless your commute is downhill both ways with the wind at your back.

this summer I hit 405 miles on one tank. I believe I averaged a bit over 38 to the gallon though. On average I get about 350 miles on the tank though.

Doing it wrong alert!

Jk. But seriously it sounds like you don't spend enough time ragging your car in the mountains. You're right there! People in Florida would give up an organ for the roads ou have, don't leave the, untraveled.

So because I drove a lot of miles on one tank does not mean I don't drive my car 'hard enough,' or in the mountains? What a pile of bullshit, don't tell me how and were to drive. For your information I've driven my car in all conditions, through the winter, and I've certainly enjoyed my share of dirt roads and canyons. Don't be ignorant.

Max miles on one tank for me is 413 at 35.2 MPG at a mix of highway/city driving.

Best gas mileage was 35.6MPG an a 395M trip that was 100% highway miles all between 60 and 80MPH except for getting on/off the highway (got gas before entering the highway, got gas immediately after getting off, straight run no stops)

I've got a tank-by-tank breakdown of mine in my owner's journal here.

This what I been wondering....nice thread

I normally do about 300 miles before a fill up (though there is usually 2.5 to 3 gallons left at that time) in mixed driving.

The best I've done was 360 miles, but that was mostly leisurely highway driving (60-65mph) for a 34 mpg average.

You definitely won't get Yaris mileage.

400 miles 100% highway and mountain driving.. It was a roadtrip from MD to CT for a dyno day meet.
