Great results with Cquartz instead of Opticoat
On Sunday I had Bryan at Concours Touch auto detailing (http://www.concourstouch.com/) do a new car prep and Cquartz finest application. I thought the car looked decent when I picked it up from the dealer, but it's on a whole new level now. Saved some money in polishing time by getting this done now, and hopefully keep the scratches to a minimum.
Amazing how much deeper the paint looks with the Cquartz applied. Went for the Cquartz over the OptiGuard because of the 2-year warranty, and also the product seemed to be a little harder to scratch and objectively better shine. Here's a couple cellphone shots when I picked it up. Highly recommend Bryan, he really does a great job. ![]()

the question is, has it been proven to last as long as opti-coat?

I don't see how its a valid comparison. I'd like to see someone opticoat half their car and cquartz the other half and see which one lasts longer.

he had cquartz finest, not the regular cquartz. and is not a product any detailer could get.

I don't think which one lasts longer will really be the determining factor when people choose Finest or OC; Finest is only marketed as lasting three years max. OC is billed as permanent, and has been around for 5+ years and shows no signs of failing on most cars. The guys getting Finest are doing it because it has a warranty, is is subjectively shinier than OC, it's much slicker, and seems to clean up a little easier. OC is less expensive since it isn't authorized detailers only. So while they are both coatings technically compete with each other, I think they are different enough currently that most people will choose based on which one suits them best.

I definitely opted for the cquartz finest because I liked the finish better and seemed smoother. I never expected it to last more than a couple years, but we'll see how it holds up.
Just hadn't seen nearly as many cars with cquartz finest compared to opticoat, so I wanted to share a good experience. Bryan who did the car really likes the product and so far I agree. |

RE: authorized installers/warranty - yes, opti coat pro (which is replacing OG, and is warrantied) has an authorized installers list. Opti Coat with no warranty will still be commercially available. I brought that up only to mention that Finest will have a higher upcharge than non warrantied Opti Coat. Opti Coat pro will have the same upcharge as Finest in most cases. |

Bryan had mentioned to me that the OC Pro warranty isn't available in Canada... No idea why.

OC was never about looks, just putting it out there. when I want the car to look it's best, i always top off with some wax, even though it will only stick to the OC for a few days.

The c-quartz will look much better than opticoat and require a slight bit less care while retaing a bright deep finish
had Jason my local Adams Polishes rep here in San Antonio show me on his truck half the hood is opticoat and the other c-quartz and after 8 months and many automatic paint killing washes later the cquartz was amoother and held a deaper shine than opticoat with less swirling/scrathces both these products are essentially clear coat for your clear coat...Does not protect againt rockchips or any other shananigens like that. If i were to ever put a "Nano-Sealent" on my car i would go with c-quartz much better product

Car looks great...now lose the ugly dealer-advertising plate holders and you're good to go.
