Def oil then Does it say the thread pitch anywhere? Might easily pull pressure for testing from there with a short hose to isolate the sender. Then tap the pan for temp or T off the OEM location.

Unfortunately no, but see what dwx had to say about that location:

Again I would not use a Tee screwed into the front ports, those things have a tendency to crack under repeated stress without much support.

You can even buy this one which is threaded for NPT and not BSPT. Depends on the gauges and send unit you are using.

Meaning that at worst, we can get that plug to insert the Temp. sensor.

Hmm my car is currently sitting on the lift at a friends house.. how much space is there (around it to the TPS, AC Comp, intake tube)? I'd be willing to try for the oil pressure there using that adapter and then tap the pan for temp...

Ordered the fastwrx piece to use for oil pressure.

Going to just weld in a bung for the oil temp in the pan I think.. avoid the whole third sandwich plate

For a temp sensor in the third sandwitch plate...which temp would it be reading? Temp b4 the cooler or after the cooler?

If you have a cooler, a temp sensor is easy. Just add an inline port. Something like this:

Depends on if you put it under or over the cooler sandwich plate

Very good! I looked today in my car and the threaded plug area looks to have plenty of space.

Instead of wiring up all these sensors, couldn't you just use something like:

Double Din Computer with OBDII display/diagnosis capabilities

Single Din version

http://www.vic-ltd.com/hardware-prod...-Computer.html

or

http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/index.htm

Or

http://tunertools.com/proddetail.asp...r_Touch_Screen!

or

Oil pressure switch is a dumb switch on these cars. I also need something secure on track (to read it from) and at a glance. The HU isn't in my line of sight

Not sure how accurate the oil temp sensor is either. I also already own the defi gauges and control unit.

I think I'm a bit old school in this, but my mind is not at ease relying on the OBD II sensors for certain things like oil temp and pressure. I might be wrong and need to "modernize" my thinking, but to date I only view the gauges as accurate and real time.

So I've just stumbled on this thread.. very disappointed. My race budget is low as it is and now this?

Sad panda.
