Minimal risk, no more than the stock intake snorkel. They are both at the same height and in the same location. The VMS filter is completely protected by the bumper cover so it can't get wet from driving in a downpour. You'd have to be driving in knee deep water to risk hydrolocking.

So I was reading the catch can thread and it brought me across some good info about the PCV system and how I had my Moroso AOS set up wrong as a closed system.

Good job, also double check if Moroso has an inlet and outlet labeled for the can? Regardless, after a track day you should see a lot of accumulation.

Intake sounds great! What was the increase in whp or wtq?

Thanks! Only butt dyno so far, but it's pulling harder than both the Airaid and the stock intake with an Apexi drop in filter.
Vigilant made 166whp over 161whp on a dyno with their CAI. Having fans blowing on the car to simulate road speeds is crucial.

Your BRZ is looking really good. I like what you did to the tail lights. Keep up the great work.

That intake sounds great. I probably should have gone with that but I picked up the AEM system. I'm happy with the results, but it's not quite as loud (from what it sounds like in videos).

Thanks! Are you planning on installing an oil cooler? That's one of the main reasons why I sold my Airaid intake and went with the VMS. I had no room to fit a sandwich plate and run the lines. The AEM airbox looks a bit smaller than the Airaid so it may not be an issue.

Gotcha. I'm curious how the AEM's MAF signal "cleaner" thingie would work on other intakes...

Your intake sounds more "aftermarket" to me. Sort of what I was expecting from mine, but the AEM sounds like a more aggressive OEM sound. I'd say similar to a K&N drop in filter on a lot of cars, maybe a little more aggressive. I like that slight metallic sound from yours. If you have ever head an intake on a S2000, that's what I like to hear in an intake. I'm debating a mild exhaust, perhaps Borla. It's my daily and I work at a HQ of a fortune 100, so I don't want anything suggesting my inner child. I just filed my tax return this morning and by the time I see the funds, I think the Eibach Multi-Pro R2 Coilovers will be available. I've been waiting on those, running KW V3s on my M3 and want to try something different. (Love the KWs but the specs on the Eibachs look very legit). Let me know if you have any other recommendations on handling (I plan to do wheels/tires after the coilovers). I've seen some bushings and a ton of reinforcement bars, but thinking more what actually makes a good difference. I installed my hotchkis sways (F&R) over the weekend and love them.

A few goodies arrived today!
First of which are the newly released RaceComp Engineering hollow front and rear sway bars! Both front and rear have 2 adjustment positions. They feature integrated anti-walking tabs to eliminate unwanted lateral movement of the bars during cornering, as well as a a nice subtle gray powdercoat finish. ![]() Quote:
