you dont mind me asking which cai do you have?

Speaking of the Works drop in filter, does anybody know where I can get my hands one on of those in Europe ?

It's a pain in the ass to find suppliers here!

I have the K&N with the Zeta tube. That plus my exhaust...guess a tune could get me some HP.

~4-5whp over stock, the gains are all relative to your altitude and ambient air temps in real driving situations.

Drift office did NOT use my car. They did, however, dyno the Injen as a CAI instead of a short ram... So their Injen results aren't of real world performance in that regard.

Would you like me to show you the difference between a dyno run with the hood open and the hood closed? Is any dyno bay or dyno runs with anyone else's 'real world performance' in a 60 mile wind tunnel? Are all the other dyno runs from the years past and others been doing it all wrong as well?

Cheers!

And for further clarification, all the tests were done on my personal vehicle.

IIRC you also left the stock intake snorkel in place for all your dynos of those short ram intakes, which is a restriction proven on a flow bench by Airaid during their intake development, with a 20% improvement in air flow after removing it. They also include removing the snorkel and resetting the ecu in their install instructions, which wasn't done for any of your tests. I never felt anything like a 14hp loss between the stock intake and the Airaid like you measured. The gains were positive, although slight in comparison to a true CAI. So in my opinion for that series of tests, yes, you were doing it wrong.

So miraculously, all the other intakes based on the same provisions and conditions performed better, and AirRaid's didn't so therefore there's an issue there. Nevermind that we did this on two different cars for each of the testing.

Okay. I'll go get another AirRaid intake and do a second round of testing... on a different car. Mine is now ECUTek equipped so I won't be able to have an apples to apples comparison. More on this later...

About resetting. We did a few other resets in tests after on the intakes there were still here, and after a few runs (since it's advisable to perform 4-5 pulls to get consistency,) we found no appreciable gain or loss.

Ultimately it's what you all want to believe. I only posted what my findings were. I still don't sell any of these products, I have nothing to gain, and just sharing what I thought would be interesting bits.

But hey, it's cool. I suppose it will never be 'right' with some as long as the hoods aren't closed and the dyno isn't in a temperature controlled laboratory grade environment which would make that one or two extra HP.

Regards,

Bob @ Drift-Office, LLC

I want to hear how this does. I just purchased a Perrin header back exhaust and was thinking I could talk my girlfriend into getting me the FA20Club intake as a birthday gift.
