Hmmm, interesting; the reset method worked twice for me when my windows were "frozen".

I need to get a diagnostic kit. I could fix all these issues on my vw myself with my vag-com.

something has to be shorting out the switch if it happened twice. where does it draw power from, anyone know? any blown fuses?

unless the window gets frozen from a bad window gasket/seal, and burns out something somehow

I personally think the jam function is just too sensitive. When theres ice that prevents the windows from rolling up and down, it makes the sensors think its jammed so they tend to lock up. Try parking the vehicle in a warmer place, it should help. I just fixed my jammed window mins ago.

I had this happen to me today. The passenger window went down but wouldn't go back up I had to reach over and do it from the switch on the passenger side.

The manual does not really specify it has to be done on the effected side.

Quote:
If a door is opened and closed when its side window is frozen,
the window safety device will operate and the side window
open/close function linked to door operation may not operate
correctly. If this occurs, perform the following after the ice has
melted.

  1. Open the side window until it is approximately halfway open with the door closed.
  2. Fully close the window by pulling the switch up to the onetouch closing position and continue holding the switch for 1second or more after the window fully closes.

The window position is reset and the safety device operations will
be released.

Same problem here. I tried the "master reset" (disconnect battery, wait 10 min, reconnect battery) and it worked.

It does though.

If the passenger window won't go up or down from the drivers side, just hold the passenger side button all the way down, wait a few seconds, then hold it while it rolls up and hold for a few seconds again, now it works.

I wonder if getting the car Krown'ed would make a difference? Since they drill a hole on the door sill and spray that greasy stuff inside the door. Maybe that'll prevent the components inside from freezing?
