I'm not trying to take your comment personally, but I have no intention to make anyone feel embarrassed. Some people are open to share this info and some don't - that's fine. I just want to get a ballpark figure of the interest rate. My experience tells me that when I go to a dealer, I have to be well prepared of knowing what's out there and what I can possibiliy get, period.

Rather than asking people from every geographical area from every demographic, go around to local banks, credit unions, check online quotes, or pick up the phone and call representatives, etc.

You'll find much more value in looking at what local rates are available to you given your own personal circumstances.

And yes, there have been threads like this before. It just gets old real quick. Obviously you want to be well-informed, but are you going to tell the dealer finance rep. that someone across the country got X rate and you have no idea how old they are, what their credit score is, or anything about them, but you want that rate too...?

I can understand this. I would hope that would be the point of a thread like this, to let people know what rates are potentially out there if you shop around. Not to embarass anyone.

I don't know what you mean about not taking my comment personally. How could it not be personal? It was directed to you! However, I in no way attacked you or said any thing negative about you. Also, I know you're not going to embarrase anyone because, as I said, they're not going to answer your question if their answer would be embarrasing. That was the reason for my posting in the first place. Sorry if I stepped on a nerve.

Yep, this is the only way to get the "ballpark" figure you want. Everyone who's posted is from a totally different credit/life/financial background.. There's no way to relate how their rate can be helpful for you.

Credit history, credit score, credit diversity, debt/income ratio, home owner/renter, co-signer, etc.. all affect what rate you'll get. No way anyone's going to post all that up.

Stevens Creek, rotten bastards and their $80 doc fee, pretty sure they got me for $100 overestimation on taxes... Been too busy enjoying the car to do the math, don't want to jinx it after the hoops it took to buy one of these things.

Edit: also plan on refinancing ASAP, so as soon as I get the plates and DMV info.

Very nice. The less debt the better. 3% through Toyota (I had to haggle it down)
