[QUOTE=AVOturboworld;655423]Sorry we haven't been giving much updates, it's been a busy week for us, but that's because we are getting ready for the Tokyo Auto Salon from tomorrow (Friday, Japan time). We've got our car and the white DAMD Turbo A/T to prep, along with everything else going on.
![]() @AVOturboworld Holy crap that front bumper is sexy! What is it? Also in light of heat discussion... how's the A/T holding up? Any chance of some more footage of the damd car, maybe an interior from a dig? |

But - it's worth saying that if you make any major changes from a stage 1 setup, get it re-tuned! Removing the secondary cat and going catless or with a high-flow cat, is going to add 1-3psi of boost at upper rpm's, and I would insist on a tune for that if you do so. Once you've gone FI on the FR-S/BRZ, it falls under the same set of rules as, say, a Impreza turbo or an Evo turbo model. Any major changes in the system needs a tune to correspond to it. That's because any change can result in minor to major changes in PSI at the engine. At the engine is the key phrase here. Turbochargers are simple air pumps, not really that complicated. But if you measured PSI at the turbo itself, and then at the intake, you'd find two different figures. Piping to the intake, the intercooler, and even the design of the intake will determine how efficiently the engine gets that air over the rpm range. So 5psi at the engine may be 6psi at the turbo, for instance. And that's a fairly efficient system. Then backpressure in the exhaust determines how well the turbo is going to do in the upper rpm range. Our base tuning map is designed around 4-5 psi range in the upper range due to the backpressure of the secondary cat, but if you went with a full catless exhaust, suddenly you've removed that backpressure, and now the system wants to go to 6psi. Nothing actually wrong with that, it's going to feel great! But the tune was not designed for that. It should be mentioned, though, that 5-8psi is the figures we are talking about. This isn't a 20psi build that's going to spike to 24psi, this is not a high pressure solution for an STI. |

Stage II is still not set in stone at this time. We do warranty the kit itself against defects. |

I apologize if this question has been answered previously.
In the future, is there a possibility for AVO to provide base maps for cars using high flow cat (300 cell for example) and aftermarket exhaust? My target purchase date is still another 10-12 months from now.

Can you be more specific when you say you do warranty against defects. what if it breaks?
Well say for example another setup proves x miles over y time. That makes it harder to buy this kit but shopping is easier then.. The conditions of use on avoturboworld.com say three months. Just wanting to know, not trying to stir anything up or be called a troll. Obviously it's a mod, I expect to pay to play. Just when we talk of boost spikes etc, I drive often from Washington to California. When stuff happens, just good to know the terms. I know avo from back home. Big name. Still, terms are terms. At this pricing it really doesn't matter. Can't get turbo for less http://www.avoturboworld.com/avoshop/conditions.php |
