Here are the pics

My PIAA

They look pretty white

Here are the highs and you can see the color of the hid, the angle eyes and the switchback down below

And in this shot you can see the difference between the color of all the light

I bought a set for $70, and they had the "prongs" that had to slide into the factory socket, as opposed to a socket to socket. I know many sellers provide that socket, but it just turned me off to the whole thing. Anyway, 3 days after I installed them, one went out. Unplugged, replugged, nothing. Tried it again and one of those prongs broke off in the socket. I dunno, just don't want to mess with them again (unless I absolutely have to).

Definitely go with 6k. I had 5ks and definitely wished I had gotten 6's (granted I returned them anyway)

I have had both 5k and 6k, I see much better at night with the 5k, color difference is as noticeable, but I read on hid planet, that some people are more acceptable to picking up the differences and I guess I am one of them.. With 6k it just looked like there was no depth to anything at night.. I am running DDM tuning ballast, I bought their PnP kit when I first started this.. Then went to TRS.. (The Retrofit Source) and bought their retrofit for the car.. It's 150$ without their hid kit, but worth every penny.. My cut off is about perfect, and my brights are insane, I do need to make a small adjustment to bring the halogen highs down a bit.. I had to do the prong thing that your talking about with my moms, KIA sportage, but being an electrical tech, I just concaved the pins a bit to give a tight fit, but the DDM kits are truly plug and play

Here is a thread about the loss of lumens, just from 4300 which they say is the brightest, to just 5k

And just some general info.. This site can answer any question you have about hid kits

what HID's did you go with? because i have 6k (the aqua tint variation very SLIGHT blue... as opposed to the 6k with slight yellow blue) and yours are fairly white. does it match up well with turn signals? kinda hard to tell.

and what halos if you don't mind me asking? i have a set of 90mm morimoto xb's on the way and wondering if you have the same. thanks!

I installed the silverstar zxe's. I think they where a big improvement both in brightness and color over stock. But they won't get confused with HIDs. But for me they're great. I just wanted some extra light while driving and a more white color. Both those make it easier for me to see at night.

5k hid, pure white. They are morimoto.. And the halo's are 100mm clf type I believe, I went 100mm because someone said that was the size.. In reality I could've probably went with 80, but 90 will fit.. I have mine running from the glovebox aux plugin

Those blobs are what blinds people.. Bending down the squirrel finders help

All the light you see above the cutoff is from the switch backs

And the highs

Again, I need to lower my halogen highs just a bit, but that involves baking the lights and putting a thin washer or two in the bottom of the retrofits.. That will in turn bring the lows up and I can adjust the whole housing to bring everything back to,being level
