Another AVO/Perrin Install
Mods (Performance) so far....
Rays 17” Seibon Edition - 15.5 Pounds. Wheel and Tire two pounds less than stock. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16843 Perrin Pulley HKS Cat-Back Exhaust Nameless Down&Over Pipe with High Flow Cat AVO Intake Perrin Filter PTF CF Drive Shaft - http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18364 FA20 Club Flash - http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17974 The install was very simple. The fit and finish was excellent and everything lined up perfectly. Initial observation was very good. Good throttle response, no bogging and smooth acceleration to redline. With some of my other mods, the tach spins to redline like a rocket already. This was just icing on the cake. ![]() ![]()

I am considering this combo as well, already have the Perrin filter. Did AVO include the plug for the sound generator or did you add that on your own? If you added it care to share the plug size?

How did you come to that conclusion?
Msile, any reason you went for the AVO and plugged it rather than one that deletes the noise pipe and resonator? I've just fitted mine but I got it because I wanted to keep my noise generator. |

The overall design incorporates a less gradual bend, which means better flow, as well as no openings for a resonator or sound generator, which he wound up plugging.

Also, if you look careful, the "less gradual bend" in Perrin's design, actually has two bends rather than one - less bends the better. The only thing that could make a diference in the Perrin's tube is the slightly larger tube diameter on one of the tube bends. that part however could get quite hot from the engine so it might not be a beneficial. Look at the design of the FA20 club intake. that is what I would call "much better". The differences in the AVO/Perrin/Zeta perfomance is so small that you wont feel the difference. I guess the price is the deciding factor here. And yes, maybe the look under the bonnet. |

I didn't mention the sound generator delete making less power, I'd have to agree with you on that, but since he plugged it anyways, it was worth noting.

I can see the Perrin having the edges slightly smooter but what difference would that make in terms of performance? I am guessing close to zero. Why did you want to keep the tube? I am quite tempted to keep mine too. |
