oem headunit install

Is installing an oem headunit as straightforward as taking old unit out and connecting the same plugs to the new one? No wiring harness or using seperate USB aux plug, or splicing wires?

Was thinking about installing bespoke or the older pioneer premium audio unit. And jut wanted to know if the plugs on them are the same a the stock unit and no fancy splicing require to get the mic or oem usbaux plugs to work. Or if this would just be safer to have my dealer install it if I buy from them

I figure that the scion headunits that were available for the 2012 TC are also compatible with the frs since features are the same and I've seen some dealers sell the frs with the pioneer premium audio unit which is the model before the bespoke.

Different areas of the world also get different factory headunits

yep, well thats what im trying to do - just dont like the analog looking unit and was thinking of buying the premium for 479 .. i dont care too much about the bespoke..

is that what u are thinking .
btw, i took the unit off and it is very easy and everything is plug-play... i would just do it yourself...

I heard the bespoke unit uses a different USB/aux cable than the stock head unit.
Anyone have Amy info on this?
