Most laser jammers also send out a signal when they detect a laser pulse to give an error code on the laser gun end (this is that JTK strategy you're referring to). By the time the officer resets his laser gun, you can then appropriately slow down (while turning off your jammer so the officer doesn't get suspicious).

The trick is retarding the laser pulse back to the laser gun..or to increase the timing resulting in the officer thinking you're driving at an unbelievable speed.

I read somewhere that emitting microwave would scatter the laser and cause radical readings throwing off a true reading. I would have to sit down and think of the theory on that for a minute. So wherever I read that could be wrong, but seems logical.

Looks like this one:

10 ft for the cable that goes to the connector. This is a different cable than the Escort LIVE cable.

weird, i figured the live would have come with the 10' cable too, this says it does:

Accessories included in the box: Cable from detector to Direct wire unit (10 foot cord), 12 volt direct wire cable, ZR4 cable (3 foot cord), and cradle mount.

I've got one for my STi-R Plus that I'm going to be installing soon. I'd compare for you, but the remote install units use a different cable than the one used for windshield mounted units.

I used a piece of cheap packing tape on the dots and the V1 sticks to it fine. I also use a piece of velcor on top of the mirror to the bottom of the V1 for extra support.

Over time I'm not sure how the tape will hold up over time and I def would never put Velcro on my mirror or V1 as that's really ghetto. The 3M film is UV treated and I don't know any shop that would charge for a piece of scrap that size. They gave me a piece large enough to do 10 cars that would've normally been thrown in the trash.

Please don't use packing tape and Velcro on your new cars guys!!

I dont have that cable... I have the coiled smart cable. And I don't want to pay another $100 for another cable. I might order another radar detector. Tired of swapping the same one back and forth between my work car and my FRS.

Oh if you just want an easier way to use your smart cable, get either the straight wire smartcord ( https://www.escortradar.com/store/st...tcord-red.html )

Or the direct wire smartcord:

Each is 29$ MSRP.

Yeah, I have the direct wire smartcord - picked it up from BestBuy. Those coiled cords are worthless in the BRZ.

I'm sure packing tape will hold up fine. I ended up using a piece of iPhone invisibleshield I had laying around as a backup. Don't have the iPhone anymore, so I was finally able to put it to good use!

Packing tape won't hold up fine at all.. It leaves behind the worst residue and yellows and is a total pita to remove down the road. The iPhone invisible shield is a much better option.
