On a side note: I'm working on a jammer for those who live in the free states of no known laser jamming laws. Stay tuned!

For those of you planning on buying laser jammers, how many sensors are you getting and where are you going to mount them?

8500 X50 here. I've had it for about 5-6 years now. Once you get used to it, and use it on expert mode, it's pretty easy to tell where the cop is based on the signal strength, and how it comes in. I've gotten pretty good at calling out where cops are, whether behind me, sittin in the middle, or driving in the opposite direction, just based on how the radar detector reacts. Only problem is up in New York, a lot of cops are starting to do laser, so radar/laser detectors are gettin pretty useless, particularly around the Queens, Brooklyn area. Down South in Florida, cops roll around town with their radar on when they're not even lookin for speeders so it works perfectly down there
Whenever I drive through VA or DC I just turn my radar detector off and hide it under my seat. I usually do the NY-Florida drive at least 4 times a year, so once I hit Virgina I just hide it, and throw cruise control on at the speed limit. And that's why I will never move there. ![]() Most important thing about radar detectors is knowing how to use them. It doesn't matter if you have the most expensive one, if you don't know how to use it, knowing when it'll work and when it wont, you're gonna get popped. For example, down in the Carolinas along i95, you have these sweet deep ditches in between the tree line cops like to sit in and shoot their radar guns out at a 90 degree angle to the road and up towards the sky. Not a shot in hell a radar detector would ever pick that up until it's too late. My parents learned that the hardway, we were road trippin down to FL, mom driving my car and dad driving the Honda behind us, I was passed out in the passenger seat of my car, Mom's bookin it cuz she liked having the radar detector not knowing how it works exactly, next thing I know she starts freakin out, and dad gets a nice 90mph ticket. Cop was hiding in a ditch in between the treeline |

I had an 8500 x50 for a long time...and it served me well. I broke it a while back, and haven't gotten another one.
Since LIDAR is so prevalent in socal where I live, I doubt its worth the investment anymore. |

I three V1s, though my wife needs it the most and one is lent out to a friend in Vegas. I dont even speed that much but I like to know where things are and often helps remind you the speed limit is about to drop in a small town while on a road trip. Maybe not the best but works very well for me.

Beltronics STI Driver....need it for the stealth capability up here in the communist state of Canada. It's saved me many a ticket, as the pigs up here are lazy and just run speed traps with two-way constant on radar in Ka band.

I use the Solo S3 - it has worked good - ive only had it 3months, but i love the fact that its decent brand, good coverage, and battery powered. no wires no mess and removes in seconds to use in another sedan if i need it there. btw, the batteries last months.. i have turned it on evertime i go anywhere and its on day 65 on the first set of batteries

Jammers are illegal here, so just 2 x Valentine Ones. Considered installing a Beltronics STI-R Plus in the BRZ, but got turned off by the potential expense. Anyway one doesn't HAVE to go at licence-losing speeds.

I've been using an old refurbished Whistler for the past 5 years w/o any issues. Decided I should probably upgrade though so I just picked up an Escort 8500 X50 and hot damn is it an improvement.
