I had this same problem this morning. The window did not auto-up and only would go down. The reset procedure WORKED and the window goes and up down now correctly with the auto up feature.

NOTE: I had a 350Z before that had the same frame-less window that goes and up and down. This is a known large issue on the 350Z as well. I had to replace the window motor once to remedy the issue.

It's not a "issue". It is a safety feature. Toyota designed the window to default to down-only configuration if it detected something blocking the path. The reason is that if someone's extremity is caught in the window, they don't want anyone to mistakenly close the window further.

There's some logic. Now other automakers with auto functions + jam protection, does it reset as well after sensing a jam? Thus needing initialization? I believe you have something here...:happy0180:

No, you have to reset it yourself. Maybe it resets after you turn the ignition off and on again?
