I think the factory struts on the twins are a little better than what they have been using but nobody has enough miles on them with lowering springs to know for sure. I wouldn't go with something with more than 1" drop and expect them to last as long as stock either though.

Most of the struts being blown are most likely from improper install. that's what happened to mine, it was my first time doing a spring/strut change, so it was a learning experience. It just happened to cost me 3 blown struts. Luckily, I was able to find replacement struts to replace my blown ones until Koni comes out with a full replacement strut set up, then I'll swap my eibach springs onto those and be happy. The OEM struts were really just a placeholder until new struts were released.
I haven't had any issues with my new OE struts after I reinstalled them properly, but I also only have 8k on the car, and I'll never find out how long they'd last because I'm replacing them as soon as I'm able. |

Is Koni making a full replacement strut, not just an insert?
I've seen the Koni strut advertised on sale from one of the vendor's here but I don't know if it's a full replacement shock. |

I also agree that stock struts will wear faster once lowering springs are put on, but even the guys who put on sportlines don't have enough mikes to explain all the blown struts.
Back in the day it was pretty much the norm for kids to put springs on their stock struts and while the ride was shit its not as if driving them for a week would blow them out.
