Ordered my Front strut bar earlier this week Via FT86speedfactory.com. The guys over at Speedfactory were awesome to work with and were extremely prompt at getting back to me about my order with shipping info and got it to me super fast!

here it is straight from Japan.

out of the box.

test fitting it.

beautiful coloration on the brackets.

peeled off the protective layer and we have a beautiful shiney strut bar!

one of the few things still made in japan!

it seemed like it was a little tough to get it to fit over bracer bars but with a couple of pounds with my hand got it to sit down, then it was just torquing the bolts down and it sat nice and beautiful!

How much torque are you supposed to apply?

i think it's about 11.X however they were not even remotely tight to begin with so i just torqued it down by hand with ease.

You are supposed to loosen the bolts where the polished bar meets the blue brackets on both ends before mounting. I'm guessing you didn't do that, which is why you had some trouble getting it on to the bracer bars.. Otherwise, it should have gone on without any tension. After mounting, tighten down the blue brackets first, then tighten the bar. Placebo or not, I do feel a difference with this strut bar. Originally, I didn't want anything flashy, but after my Cusco camber arms were installed, I thought the blue complimented my car so well that I had to get more Cusco stuff, so I bought the front and rear strut bars. These look geeeewd!

Sorry i didn't get back sooner. No the car was on the ground. All of the bolts were taken off to have as clean and easy of an install as possible. Yes i do feel a difference in the cars handling when just throwing it into turns and swerving around things for the fun of it. It is a great buy!

So what I'm wondering is why you had to pound down on anything to fit? Did you mount the strut bar as a whole or did you try mounting the blue bracket independently (detached from the bar) and still have the fitment issue? I'm not trying to offend you.. Just want to clarify for anyone considering this strut bar but is concerned with the fitment. I didn't have to pound on anything as mine went on smoothly.

it seem like it was more or less meant to be a very tight fitment, that way it would be giving proper tension on both strut towers. and those brackets could tilt up and down so i could have also just not had them tilted perfectly to fit on easily and had to push them down enough to get a bolt started on them. In NO way was it HARD to get this bar on, just a little force to push it down. Like i said i figure it was just a tension thing or the blue bracket itself being tilted a little in one way or another.
