It works that way in Texas too. They don't like it when they have to respond to minor fender benders where nobody is hurt. They tell you to drive to the nearest station and fill out a police report yourself.

If the other person has no insurance or is giving any hassle at all, call them up.

My Software at my shop allows me to put in license plate # and get year make model vin# etc...

Enter Vin# into google, luckily since its a pretty new car it was still listed on dealer website popped up all over that dealers web presence.

Nah....that was definitely an "oh...shit, I just hit a car because I stopped when I didn't expect to" moment.

While the rest may be true, around here if someone has the info on the driver it's pretty common to get in some serious trouble for a hit and run of any sort.

Edit: In the first few frames you can easily see the 5 numbers of the tag, making out the F later. Definitely F68-BRV. Nice job guys.

In NYC, they just call that 'parking.' They'd have to triple their police force to track down every bumper tap. They even make bumper blanket things you roll out to cover your bumper and protect it from the inevitable parking rash.

I'm not saying it's right.... but it's almost impossible to find a street-parked NYC car without bumper damage from careless parkers.

Id prefer if personal info was kept in PM guys.

Yeah he hit someones car, but no need posting his name and other private stuff on a forum anyone on the internet can view...

Thanks.

If a moderator feels like its against the rules they can delete the info... People like that who do hit and runs I don't really care if people spam him... especially when he obviously has enough money for insurance when he is driving a 65k luxury car.

I did PM all the info I got to the OP

Gotcha. I was just curious to see if I had missed a definitive link between the two or whether it was all circumstantial. I agree it looks like you found the owner.
