Lexus IS-F hits my car, leaves (car cam video)

Hopefully my insurance company will be able to track this one down:

Anyone else agree with my take on their plate?

I'm sure your insurance will be able to find the jerk. Sorry it happened to you but the cost of the dash cam will more than pay for itself now.

After seeing this thread and another one where the owner had some dealership service bozo drive his frs like a Richard Petty wannabe..I'm thinking I need to invest in a dash cam.

OP..Which one do you have?

For everyone else, I'm sure there are tons of threads, but which 1 or 2 dash cams rank the best in your opinion.

I had the Blackvue 400hd which died by heat failure, wonderful camera but the heat problems are bad.

This was filmed with the ITB 100HD which I find slightly better than the blackvue and so far no problems.

Recording this is one reason I love my blackvue (v2).

File a police report, they will probably get a close match on the plate, color, make and model (if they're not too busy/lazy). That way, if they may be able to contact the owner and get insurance info or do a criminal investigation.

Insurance probably won't do too much investigating unless the car is ID'd.

Might get myself a cam for this purpose to, already had someone bump into my car and just drive away when it was overnight parked :(

Looks like a blue Lexus IS rather than a Camry btw.

WTF was he trying to do in the first place?

Kind of a shame it doesn't save the recording earlier from the impact than it did, makes it a lot harder to ID those left side characters.

PS. Sorry man that sucks. :(

I think the twins are invisible to idiots. It looked like he was trying to parallel park right into the spot where the ops car is.

That's what I was thinking too. Did the cam not record before then? I'd contact the police right away too.

I had someone try to do this same thing to me in daylight. Luckily I was in the car and was able to start the engine and backup.

That's a 2012 Camry.

No it's not. It's a pre-2009 IS. If fact, I'm almost positive it's an IS-F.

You should file a police report. At least in Pennsylvania the person could be charged with accidents involving damage to unattended vehicles. The important thing for you would be that if the person were convicted or plead guilty he would have to pay restitution for the damage he did. :paddle:

Asphalt~86 12-16-2012 12:50 PM

It's 100% an IS-F.
