What is the best intake for FR-S?

Are your this is safe for the MAF if we use a oiled filter like the k&n?

And do you know if the TRD is oiled?

or get a perrin CAI and stage1 tune as they come available

If you produce HP with an intake, it will probably lean your engine. More lean = more HP.

mine have the GReddy intake. installed without disconnecting the battery. since greddy said its just a bolt on intake. so far so good, no cel or anything. and so much feel the difference from the stock

Yes, it's been proven... because dynos.

Just because the car doesn't buck or stall, doesn't mean it's running correctly. I'm sorry but running 14:1 above 3500 RPM under heavy load just isn't safe in the long haul.

I hope that is a typo. If not, you need to do a bit more research about this subject. 14:1 being talked about is a ratio of of masses in the fuel mixture, that actually means 14 of air to 1 of fuel... The higher number the "leaner" because there is more air per fuel. Running lean leads to detonation and high temperatures among other things.

As for the Dynos, several plots are posted in the site showing the AFR mixture and why it is too lean with virtually all intakes.

You can also run data logs through your OBD2 port to show your AFR continuously. Much of this mysterious info was talked to death months ago which is why we no longer require proof.

That was a typo meant to say AFR. Correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't the stock engine have an AFR of about 14.9:1 from 1,300 to 3,000 rpm at low-end, 13.1:1 from 3,200 to 6,200 rpm in the midrange and richens up at the top end (12.0:1 and lower) from 6,300 to redline? If these numbers are leaner by 0.5 is that really going to be detrimental to the engine?
