Maybe an oval design similar to the Subaru badge - ie black background, with just a silver "AVO" logo in your font, but with the clear plastic/lacquer over it.
Or using your current logo, but everything in silver(minus the 'turboworld') with the AVO text and turbo picture.

UGR do a similar thing on their kits.. OEM badge

UGR badge

I think it would be a nice subtle look for any AVO'ed 86/FR-S/BRZ car.
If cost is a factor, maybe make it an 'accessory', I would definitely buy one.

i like this idea.

I love the look and simplicity of this kit. As of now, this is the one we will be buying in the not-too-distant future.

Couple questions (sorry if they've already been answered, this is a VERY long thread):
1) What is the stock clutch capable of holding? Should I install a new clutch when I bolt on this turbo kit?
2) How does the high-compression factory engine tolerate boost? If we keep the boost level low, is there enough safety margin in this kit to assume long term durability?

1. clutch started to slip at about 210 ft/lbs tq based off of what another turbo manufacturer said.
2. w/ the high compression ratio, each psi packs more of a punch so low boost is sufficient for nice gains

1. Thank you
2. Agreed... just curious about the pistons for when mistakes happen
3. Any issues passing cali type emissions sniffing?

This kit is exactly what I'm looking for, though. I was bummed the wife fell in love with the fr-s instead of the genesis coupe turbo, but this kit makes the hyundai obsolete. I love that this retains the stock fuel system because that will drastically increase reliability. It will be her dd until its my toy in a few years but theres no way we will wait that long to turbo it.

The clutch start slipping at around 270-275 WHP.

Paul, can you please remove the plate on your AVO BOV to vent 50% in the atmosphere an make a little video inside, outside the car so you can hear how sound the avo BOV.

I thought the clutch slips from torque not HP.

This, HP is just a function of torque.

That is possible but HP and torque goes together.

If you have more HP you will have more torque by the way.

Fullblown with 7 psi was at 275WHP and the car had 237TQ at the wheels.

If the Avo Stage 2 comes at 6.5PSI it should be around 220WTQ.

Very close to the limit of the stock clutch but should be O.K. for some time.

Not entirely correct. HP is a function of torque.

HP = TQ * RPM / 5252

So if you make a crap load of low end torque, with little up high then you're going to have low HP numbers. Look at the original Hummer. 440 ft lbs and only 205 HP. Likewise look at the 2001 Integra Type R. 205 HP and only 130 ft lbs.

The difference between these two is where the torque is made. On the hummer, the torque is made at 1800 RPM. On the ITR, it's at 7500 RPM. HP really only indicates where the torque is in relation to a motors rev range. It doesn't necessarily reflect the force put out by the motor, which is what causes clutches to fail.

Sorry, no updates at the moment. Mainly because everybody is very busy packing up the stage 1 kits to ship out ASAP. Nothing much happening here either, which is good news, the car is trucking right along without any issues popping up.
