The Celica All-Trac GT-Four used Aisin transmission, so it's gotta be good right :P

Eww...guess we better PRAY it's light enough, cause Honda's are weak in the torque department. Just don't see that working to well for the drift circuit.

I hope the FR doesn't feel so gutless. It may have similar stats when its all said and done but I better be able to feel the car move.

RX8 fells the same way. A flat curve is great for the track (maintains traction most of the time), but they suck for DD and they suck for Drifting to have Honda Torque numbers. The upside is we won't have to wait for VTEC to kick in so at least it won't be a fat snail in low rpms.

The Camry and the 2011 Scion tC have 6sp trans

2012 Civic Si = 201 hp @ 7,000 rpm + 170 ft/lbs @ 4400 rpm. Granted, the car is a pig at 2877 lbs, but those numbers by themselves don't look so awful. I'd be mucho happy if we got 170 ft/lb in the FT-86.

That's a 2.4L engine, 170ft-lb is not going to happen. But again, it doesn't matter, just hope they gear it well and rev more :P

i would rather it rev like a k20 than have grunt like my 1grfe. yes, i know, totally different engines, yadda yadda... that's what i'm mostly getting at. *group hug* i want revs, and i'm perfectly willing to give up 10 ft lbs at the low end to gain it up top (arbitrary numbers).

OK Guys, what do we know about the FT-86? Its FRONT engined, REAR wheel drive...

Which of those three cars are FR ?? Hmmmmmmm

So therefore, what 6 speed manual gearboxes, for a front engined, rear wheel drive car are used by the Toyota family?

as we were talking about gearboxes in reference to the FT-86 it should be pretty f**king obvious I wasn't talking about a Front wheel drive gearbox

Well you made it sound like they don't have 6sp boxes.

They wont use an old box, that's for sure.

I'm pretty sure that the original Mk1 concept had an Aisin 6 speed. I don't think it's been mentioned since.
