There are 6 clips, 3 visible under the hood and 3 in the door opening/behind the fender as well as the tape.

So is it easiest to try and release the 6 clips somehow? Then pull the side vent out?

Thanks. start from the side by the door and work your way to the front.
so it looks like there's only tape that runs vertically along the door.

New factory fender "vents" should already come ready to go on the car with adhesive already where it needs to be. That's how my TRD ones came, though in different places from the normal GT86 "vents" because of it's different design. I actually removed the stock "vents" from front to back...was pretty easy actually. Taped around the "vent" edge and used a flat wooden tool to lift of the front leading edge so I could use my fingers, then just pried it up all the way to the back where the adhesive was and pulled it off - the clips are designed to pull out with a tug. Hardest part is getting all the adhesive off the car...

Fender with the "vent" off...

Back of the TRD garnish showing adhesive (better than stock because they have adhesive on the front leading edge) and clip locations...

Clean the fender very well and dry then pull off the covering for the adhesive strips on the "vent" and just push it straight into the fender to set in place.
