DIY REQUEST: How to remove the fender garnish/vents?

Pretty much title says it all, how do you remove this vent? Im trying to paint, and i have honestly looked all over the forums and googled a bunch.. trust. Some say you need heat guns, some say u have take the whole door.. but im pretty sure its more simple but please can someone clarify this for me? Trying to be responsicle and doing my research before messing up and paying a good 300$ replacement for my impatience.. thank you!

Pictures would be best, but text is fine as well, once i get this i'll post a DIY for all the other noobs like me!

-thanks again!

open the hood there are clips on the other side. whole vent part will come out.

I think he means how to remove the fender badge and install a new one not the whole fender vent. To remove the badge you need to use goo gone, spray it on the emblem wait 20-30 mins use a dental floss on the edges of the emblem do a zig-zag motion with the dental floss and it should come off.

What's behind the 86 emblem? Are there any holes or is it just flat?

to remove the whole white plastic part

nothing to do on the inside of the hood, leave that alone!

just pry from outside, start with the end towards the front of the car first, thats how I did mine
