This Exhaust Diffuser material is aluminum and the finish is a durable silver-metallic powder coat to withstand oxidation. Initially we considered matching the color of the valence then decided against it for a couple of reasons. We understand this is a down-facing part and it will get pitted and scratched from high-speed debris from the road surface. Our choice of color works well for those who don't want the constant maintenance keeping a dark-colored part visually uniform (visualize a black diffuser with silver nicks & scratches).

We understand many customers will customize this and we're providing a neutral canvas for these customers. The Diffuser is easily removed for service access.

Doubt you will ever get that info. Justifying the cost would be difficult for an exhaust company since many tunnels cost upwards of 50k / hr (at least rolling road tunnels anyway).
