Guys...Any thoughts on the ecutek tune that comes with this for high altitude? I have emailed Paul, but he has yet to respond and wondering your all thoughts... I am at 5280 feet, and would think this would need to be taken into account for the tune?

Whats your thoughts?

I apologize, I did see your email and meant to respond, but got pulled under by the riptide of other emails at the time.

That's the reason we spent so much time tuning with the MAP sensor, that's indeed what they are for. Even in n/a form the car needs to compensate for changes in atmospheric pressure due to altitude changes. That's why we were blasting along mountain tops at 6000 feet on the way to SEMA. It's not only to make sure it works at x feet of altitude, but also that it works when people go on a vacation in the car to somewhere at sea level, or vice versa.

Bummer about the production delays.
Where was the option on the website to have ceramic coating done?

I contacted Paul directly to express interest when he mentioned that AVO was debating offering it as an option, as I thought the coating would be helpful given how close the turbocharger is to the transmission tunnel. AVO had been exploring ceramic coating for some time at that point.

Paul has taken care of me since day 1. Other than placing the deposit on the website, I haven't made any other transactions there. The coating, BOV, and balance of the deposit were handled by Paul directly.

heh yeah i know, checked their website and glazed over the 1st post but i probably missed it.

seems like you can deck this kit out quite nicely and get up to the price of a base msrp of the other kits out there. heck of a deal and it's making my sc vs tc decision difficult.

I am really interested in getting the AVO turbo kit as soon as the CEL/SL issue is resovled and a chance to get an E-tune. How and when can we be lucky enough to get it in Dubai from AVO?

The CEL issue is unrelated to the kit as far as I know.

My bad I might have not phrased that properly. I mean when the cel and sl issue that I have is fixed. Then I would defiantly get the turbo kit from AVO.

The CEL/idle issue is a problem with oil flow in the exhaust VVT actuator. It's caused by the oil check valve overpowering the spool valve in some idle conditions which leads to rough idle/stall.

The fix for affected cars (pre Oct 19 build) is an ECU change to the oil force of the OCV, to give a more normal flow.

ECUtek have updated their software to include it. I didn't get a response when I asked Paul about it but I'm sure they will bundle the latest version with their kits.

Thanks nix, the stealership told me today that my cel/sl issue is ecu related but their still waiting for response from senior technicians. I will try to be in touch with Ecuteck in the future and see if I can get an e-tune from them
