This kit has to have both a waste gate and a blow off valve. The waste gate in this case is an internal waste gate because its part of the turbo assembly, the waste gate is required to control max boost level by bleeding off exhaust gases around the turbo. A blow off valve is required to bleed/blow off the compressed intake charge when the throttle body closes, this is not optional. Now there is recirculating BOV's and vent to atmosphere BOV's and correct me if I'm wrong but a Bosch recirculating BOV does come with the stage 1 kit and recirculates the bleed/blown off compressed intake charge into the silicone opening shown here.

A BOV isn't mandatory at all for low boost turbo setups but it's a good idea.

I got some bad news today from AVO ... confirmation of the factory delay pushing the first run to mid January. There will be a couple of preview kits going out this month to each continent though so we should still see some nice builds and magazine articles etc before Christmas.

It depends who and where you get the kit from. In AU the base kit comes with just the hardware, then the ecutek map, bov, air filter and catback exhaust are all add-ons. I can't speak for US but I'm pretty sure Paul has answered this already.

Is the port in the picture just going to be plugged then along with the port on the underside of the pipe that connects to the TB?

I would not call this an option if what you say is true its an additional cost over the base kit which would be incomplete without it.

It would be nice if their website had an itemized list of what's in the kit.

It used to. I noticed the itemization wasn't there when I put down my deposit.

I went with the ceramic coating upcharge and BOV.

Also went with the ceramic coating and BOV

Bummer about the production delays.

I'd love to have ceramic coating of the whole manifold\turbo\overpipe combo

I just hate heat wraps - ugly looking and oil&mud- absorbent = fire risky & smelly

OMG look what brake cool ducting you gotta have to cope with THAT MUCH POWA... yikes... I wonder why it's not listed in the kit description...)

You can see the waste gate actuator in the pic, as for bov, it does not come with the kit.

I think there have a BOV included with the avo kit.

Its a cheap plastic bypass valve. ( Type on google images : Bosh BPV )

It is exactly the same part that usually comes on a factory turbocharged car like I use to have on my stock RX-7 TT and also on the genesis coupe 2.0T.

The air coming out from that valve is pushed back into the intake system and it is almost impossible to hear it. If you unplug this valve, the air will be release into the atmosphere like an aftermarket BOV but the sound it will make will not be really nice to hear...

You cannot unplug this BPV because that would create a boost leak.

A BPV is different than a BOV. The kit includes a BPV but no BOV. BOV is optional.

BOV and BPV are the same thing, they serve exactly the same function. The only difference is where the compressed intake charge is routed.

I did it with my RX-7 and with the Genesis Coupe before to buy a nicer aftermarket BOV and it worked great but the sounds was just like crap...

You just need to put a plug at the place where the BPV was connected to send the air back into the intake system.
