Engine crease?

Today i opened my hood and looked at my engine. I noticed that my engine looks to be crease or cracks on the surface i touched it after it was cool and its rough. Is it just the heat that deform the metal a little? is it a common thing? I dont know if anyone else noticed this or i should be going to the dealer about it.

Back in my day, we had Cast Iron blocks that were as strong as, well, Iron! These newfangled Alooooominum blocks are always crickin' and crackin', formin' and deformin'.

Outta line, I tells ya!

yep, that's just poor casting, exactly the same on my engine. Nothing to worry about, purely cosmetic.

do me a favor and squat down and look at the front of your air box, can you see the top of the air filter along the top where the 2 parts of the box meet? that had me freaked out last week, but it seems they're all like that.

I used to work at a transmission plant: you should see cosmetic flaws on some cast parts when the die is nearing the end of its useful life. *shudder*

Unfortunately it doesn't... Not for anyone I've heard of. Me and so many others it seems have just resorted to double clutching for the first couple miles or so. Eliminates the need for that retarded 2nd gear synchro and bad fluid altogether
