Just examine the car VERY carefully before you sign anything. After that, take it to another dealer of your choice for service and parts. I'd highly recommend Regency Toyota/Scion. They are located in Vancouver, and their parts and sales guy are on here as well.

Dispect, did you ask them to NOT wash the car?

If you didn't... they will give you their "signature swirls" for Christmas.

Dispect, congrats on your new car & welcome to the club.

I also dealt with Ahmed as well & nice guy but during the buying process he fell short in terms of cx service & follow ups.

Before you buy the car/take ownership make sure you look over the car in full detail...check all the seat/panels..make sure everything lines up... check for the rubber plugs under the car that pervent water from going into the frame! (this should be part of PDI)... ask them to NOT wash the car & keep all stickers on....not to drill the bumper for license plate...turn on the car...try every button you can think of before you sign any papers! that's what I did and Ahmed was like "You're the 1st customer to do this" I'm thinking to myself....well ya I'm 32 but I'm spending 31K & I ain't stupid! Ahmed even offered me a job there after I signed everything. O_O

My story is a novel!

1. Deposit was placed April 23 & email was sent to me confirming for a white auto

2. May 14 I sent an email asking why it cost an extra $225 for the pearl white & he emailed me back the same day explaining tri-coat which I overlooked & then tells me that thier demo car is coming next week.

3. May 17 I schedule a demo drive then he tells me they can't because it's long weekend & will keep me posted

4. June 23 I email about status & by June 25 he emails me back saying I moved up on the list & to get my car end of July or early August.

5. July a white auto comes in & tells me to come down to check it out as it has arrived! So I invite my buddy & sister. I get to Open Road Richmond & "sorry man they made a mistake this actually is someone elses car" Me in my head I'm thinking "WTF!!!" so we walk into his office talked some prices...3 hours...what a waste.

6. I make a phone call to langley scion next day they had 1 sitting at the dock ready in a week for me to take I called Ahmed back & he said that it was weird because of the whole manual recall delayed delivery of the car.

7. Next thing you know, phone call a few days later hey that car the other day the guy backed out when do you want it. So I go down sit in the car with him & he says to me " so what do you think are you going to buy it? cause if not we have a policy here that if your not serious about buying we have to move to the next serious buying" me I'm thinking "WTF!! why would you say that to a customer"

8. I come back a few days later to buy the car he says sorry to me that he made me come down the other day but doesn't compesate me for my time as i spent 3+ hrs. I was going to finance through toyota financial service but instead I changed my mind & paid my car off in FULL to show him that I wasn't fucking around about buying the car

9. I took my car home July 10... 5 days before my b day (which he did wish me a happy bday) & nothing was given extra to me but 4 free oil changes. I was suppose to get a a customer follow up, touch up paint & a compensation "swag" kit but of course...NOTHING!

oh ya I forgot they gave me $200 off the car cause I previously signed up to be an open road member which he honoured.

yeah man i have to agree with u on that one. cs is HORRIBAD there. i just texted him today regarding the status of my car and he didnt even reply me. becoz one of my close friend's uncle or something owns openroad, i got him to do a little digging for me and i found out that the vehicles are already ON PORT in freaking vancouver. ahmed didnt even update me on that. i asked him to keep me updated at all times which he didnt follow through. but ill give him the benefit of the doubt. i wont point fingers. he gave me an ETA of 7th december and since the cars are already on port, it should be right i guess. we'll see.. ill keep u guys posted.

thanks for the advice too. i really appreciate it. all of you!
