I originally looked at the brz but subabru wanted 2500 bucks just to have the priviledge to by by it. with that being said i found the fr-s with upgraded aftermarket leather and actually got a great deal. i looked at almost all the cars in this class or at least close to this class. i made a great choice finally a car built for driving. i saw a brz at the shop the other day and talk with its owner we checked out each others car and they are exactly the same with minor adjustments. glad to be here on the forum.

I'll chime in here.. My last car was a Mazdaspeed 3, I traded it in on a FR-S, and on delivery got my money back, then a week later got a 2.0T 2013 Genesis Coupe, and am very happy with my decision..
Why? The FR-S was SO slow in comparison to the Mazda, my Mazda handled better than the FR-S (though it had Koni's on it, stock it probably wouldn't have) and the practicality of how tiny the FR-S was made it a bad choice for me. The Genesis Coupe is actually a tad bit (but not much) slower than my Mazda was, But the Mazda had work done to it, and I plan to do a bit to the Gen Coupe. (it actually has higher potential modded than the Mazda did without needing a total rebuild, better internals etc, but I didn't know this at the time) It is also surprisingly good handling. It does need a firm boot to deal with under steer, but it is not bad. I have taken the car to the Local Motor's auto-x days, so some of you may have seen pics of my car next to all the FR-S's and I actually posted better times than most of the FR-S's through the course. I do have aftermarket wheels and tires though, so that probably helps. All in all, if the FR-S had more power, I probably would have kept it. I don't claim my Genesis is a better car, just more suited to me. (Also whenever I meet up with yruyur and we park the cars next to each other, mine get most the looks and questions, his FR-S gets ignored) |
