If you just get in the car and hit the start button twice without pushing in the clutch it will put it in acc mode.

We're talking about after driving the car and putting it in ACC/On with the engine off without having to completely shut everything off then turn it back on.

Are you saying that when you:
1. come to a stop
2. Putting the trans in neutral
3. Applying the e-brake
4. Having both doors closed
5. No feet on any pedals (that's all THREE pedals)
6. and then pressing the ignition switch just once, the radio gets turned off? (assuming it was on at the time)

If that is the case then I am so glad I did not get the push button ignition. This thread seems to have a lot of posters confused. Maybe I am one of them. But either way, I surely do not have this described push button ignition problem.

BTW- I have silver Premium, manual Trans.

I used to own a 1996 Oldsmobile Aurora, (that's 17 years ago) When I would turn off the ignition and switch to the accessories position, nothing would turn off except the engine. Seventeen years ago folks! and many cars much before that! YEARS ago!

Tried it (no clutch, no brakes while engine running) and doesn't work. Everything shuts off (engine + radio). Like we said earlier, then need to hit start button again to bring radio back up but takes forever (this Pioneer unit must definitely be "Windows" based...)

I guess we'll have to live with it for now.

Tried it again and only time I was able to do it right was when almost stalling the car (barely rolling, foot on the brake, hit the start button then bring car to complete stop and clutch at almost same time as car stalls). Doesn't work all the time but makes no sense to do this all the time i want to keep radio ON...

Let's keep searching guys.

I know you are trying but why would you press the ignition push button when car in motion? Did you follow ALL of the steps I described? Good Luck! Sorry I could not help..Have you gone to a dealer and explained the problem?

Has anyone tried talking to their dealer about this?

Perhaps it's a hidden option that didn't make it to the manual?

Also, Lee358, have you had your ECU upgraded to the latest version due to CEL or running factory spec?

I wonder if the tune enabled this? After all they can enable all sorts of fancy things.

Tried it. Works for me.

While coming down to a stop normally (clutch in, gear lever in 1st/2nd/whatever, right foot braking) press the button _ a second or two before_ coming to a stop and keep it pressed. The engine shuts off after a few seconds of pressing but nav/radio stays on.

I doubt this is was meant as a way to put it into ACC mode. More likely it's the way to shut-off the engine in a case of a gas pedal being jammed to the floor or smth.

Don't really wish to revive an old thread, but was there ever an update on this? Rather, is there a way to enter ACC mode without having to shut off the entire engine/power system and then turning it back on with foot off the clutch in the Limited BRZ? Thanks in advance and sorry if there is an updated thread on this (nothing turned up but this thread when searching).
