Here's one thread about it - http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...light=tpms+vsc. I was looking to see if the light would cause any functionality issues (I thought I read that you couldn't turn off TRAC/VSC or something weird like that) but that doesn't seem to be the case. I haven't really looked into this because the BRZ doesn't have the TPMS and I regularly check my car over anyway.

That's what I got based on my reading.
I searched and skimmed the (what seems like) hundreds of topics on here. It seemed like people were just bitching at each other for not providing proof either way. Nobody seemed to understand what was happening for them and the whole thing just seems really shoddy - ie., not updating until two weeks later. I'll probably just try it and see what happens.

Another reason why I wish I'd just gotten a BRZ... Keyless entry, HID's, dual zone climate, and no TPMS nanny to deal with.

Wow, I thought TPMS was required by law on all new vehicles, but that is only in the US.

So... anyone take their FR-S out in the snow today? How was it?

Today was nothing. Last night was an entirely different matter. I got out of work at about 1:15 am to find my car completely covered by snow (several inches in fact). The roads were also covered with enough to warrant activating the snow mode. I was able to get up to the speed limit for about a minute or two, but, was relegated to about 10 km under the limit for the remainder of the drive home. My drive runs from Maplegrove and Fountain to Victoria and Fountain. She got a little squirrely just past the airport, but, with some deliberate correction, I was able to maintain decent control thereafter. A little unwanted thrill, but, still within my abilities. Driving RWD is certainly coming back to me, but, I am definitely rusty.

Had the car out yesterday morning! I don't know about Kitchener, but most of the roads in Waterloo were covered in ice. It was pretty slippery considering I didn't have snows on yet, but that's exactly where I was headed haha. It wasn't awful, surprisingly! I have much higher hopes with snows on now. We will see!

Was so focused on snow tires, realized this morning, after I got to work... I didn't even put a snow brush in the car yet! LOL

Same problem - I don't even know what I did with my snow brush back in the spring. Gotta go dig it out. Sitting in the car for 10 minutes waiting for the defroster to do all the work is inefficient!

Sal, I think I saw your Celica today between 1-1:30, out on River Rd near Chicopee! Was that you?

Got my car this afternoon. There may have been an extra hour after I drove off the lot where my co-workers thought I was doing additional paperwork.

Man, the winter tires do not stick at all. And the car feels floaty at any speed above ~120km/h. It's less planted than anything I've ever driven. Maybe the tires just need some wear on them. Or maybe I should've spent more than $80/tire. I had traction issues accelerating when I was at 60km/h.

And before anyone says the post is worthless without pics, I present the following imgur album of my brand new Firestorm FR-S with 16" winter steelies and TRD exhaust:

Here's one pic from the album:

I know those buildings. I'll keep my eyes open since I live in that area.

So, was it worth the wait?
