Edit: There are probably 10 different Corolla bolt patterns depending on generation or trim so I guess I wouldn't really know. I got 16" Impreza steelies and all my research says they should be fine. |

If everything goes according to plan, they should get everything in tomorrow and I will get them installed in the afternoon. As long as they are installed by next week, the Weather Network is predicting winter weather. |

Not to be an ,but, it looks like tomorrow now for the winter tires. Oh well, I guess I can have one more day of fun on non-squishy tires. Once the temperature drops and flakes start to fall, then I will appreciate them. Until then, they are a necessary evil. Hoping I don't regret making it my daily driver. |

Putting mine away on Thursday I think. Wasn't sure if I would winter drive it or not, but I'll save her from the salt this year at least.

Something you all may know (I didn't)... but when you get your snows on and if you don't install the TPMS on them the light on the dash comes on and off somewhat randomly. No biggie, I was just caught off guard. lol Any unexpected lights throw me a tad.

My Corolla did something similar. It would periodically try to pick up the signal from the TPMS and then when it would inevitably fail, the light would come back on. The funny thing is that because I stored my winter tires in my garage, it would sometimes sense them and be fine until sometime later after leaving the house.

![]() It might work. ![]() Do you plan to use your trunk or back seats? Space is already pretty limited back there. I am pretty sure you would need all 4 tires to trick the system. Softener salt bags might be a more compact solution for adding weight. IMHO, ignore the light, check your tire pressure regularly. You will probably find that you will use VSC Sport often enough that the TPMS light will be just one more light added to the mix. Last edited by Demandred7; 11-21-2012 at 02:21 PM. Reason: Had sport shifting mode typed, then realized you have a manual transmission. |

Regarding TPMS, there have been multiple threads where people confirm that this kind of system requires the wheel to be spinning to activate sensors to read. Just go through a few threads in wheel section and you'll see. It just happens to not activate the light consistently when you don't have sensors in your driving wheels. That's what I got based on my reading.
