yesyesyesyes. Love me some E30! I'm still looking for a decent 318iS for a daily driver. I used to have an '89 325iS, it was beat to hell but I loved it just the same:

Rusty underneath, sat for a year with the sunroof cracked (moldy), suspension was all-original with around 200k on the car, paint was tired. BUT, I bought it for $800, put a wheel bearing and an alternator in it, drove it for 6 months and sold it for $1700. Good deal!

Gotcha. Sounds like you made out pretty well. I have a deep desire to strap a holset to an M20 with megasquirt...one of these days.

I had a 325 for a good bit of time. The thing was absolutely hilarious. Everywhere I went I was just giggling. It's depressing how far BMW has fallen(they chased me away).

I maintain that the FRS/BRZ(especially FRS side of the suspension) handles and performs exactly like an E30 M3, which is wonderful.

^^ Looks super clean!! ^^

Well, following up on that earlier post, I snagged me a clean, bone-stock 1991 318is!! I'm getting it re-painted Alpine White and should have it back in a few weeks. I picked up a Motorsport front lip, black taillight filler panel, new roundel emblems, and some goodies from UUC.

Mega squirt never really appealed to me, but there are other options. Regardless, a properly sized turbo on that beautiful squeezey M20 seems like all a man would ever need in life.

Thanks! This one I'm trying to keep as untouched and nice as possible. It's got 120K miles, and although it has been repainted, the overall cosmetic condition is as nice as I could hope for. It's got some minor maintenance issues I'm sorting out now, but it should be ready to go pretty soon!

Initially I planned on daily-driving it until the BRZ came but I think I will keep it as a daily and keep the BRZ pampered and out of bad weather. Yes, I'm crazy. I picked up a Motorsport front lip, taillight garnish, UUC shift knob and shifter bushings, and a UUC clutch pedal stop. I also hope to grab another Mtech 1 steering wheel and some redrilled Style 5 wheels from a 740i.

Awesome! I had an alpine white 318iS and loved that car so much. I went with a 325iS this time around but I may even regret that decision. That little m42 was fantastic.

The E30 was why I got the BRZ. Wanted something with similar dynamics which would be essentially easier to replace and be useable for daily duty. By far the closest stock for stock in handling.
