What width will work on the front for tires?

I'm probably going to run 18x9 all around on street and 17x9 all around for track. I'd like to have a big contact patch, but obviously with coilovers and such I'm worried about rubbing.

I'd like to do 255s or 265s... but will that work up front?

Just wondering what you guys are running and how its affected the car, please leave personal experience
Thanks

^At that price, they're probably bent or cracked.

Gonna check first before i buy ahha. Thinking if they are in good condition, gonna mount my summers on there and winter on stock rims.

4th rim is cracked beyond hell. Took a look at it. Failure of epic proportions.

Freed Engineering is running 18x9 +38 with 255/35 all around and it looks very good. I'm running 235/40's and wouldn't want anything narrower, no negative effects from the wider tire in my opinion.

the answer varies if you're talking about looks or for speed

Hoosier R6 225/45-17 will be my next victim at the track..

18 x 9.5 + 38 on stock suspension

Hi guys,

Has anyone sucessfully ran an 18x9.5 + 38 on lowered springs only?

I am worried after measuring the gap between the strut and the wheel on the stock wheel..

My car is lowered on Eibach Sportline springs only and I just ordered 18x.95 + 38 and I am worried they wont fit without coilovers.

Plan is to run a 245/35 on the front and a 255/35 on the rear..

I think you might have an issue.

I have seen no info about a 9.5 inch rim fitting with out coil overs. But of course that doesn't mean it cant be done.

Check the fitment sticky at the top of the wheels topic.

Good luck.

I would think it would hit the strut, might need about a 8mm spacer up front.

i'm gonna be running an almost identical setup so hopefully someone can answer this! on sportlines as well. i've only read reviews of people fitting 9.5 +38 up front on coils so hopefully stock suspension clears...

You can do it, but you'll need to stretch it out, you wont be able to do wide tires... It's already been done before, check it out here:

Fitted 9.5inch wide rims, on the FRONT.. No rubbing, no guard rolling

If you need any additional help with wheel fitment, or the tire sizes/suspension to get it done, send me a PM/Email or call me up - 714.582.3330 extension 8002, and ask for Jurrian of course

these are on coils tho, not stock struts with lowering springs. i know a guy on the forums fit 18x9.5 +38 rpf1's with 245/35 all around with no fender mods or crazy camber either and no issues, but on coils. the stock sized springs are larger in diameter, and thus may create an issue. i'm no expert on measurements of the stock components, but i have yet to see it done on lowering springs for verification

Wheel Gurus.. need your help on TE37SLs

Hello,

I have decided to get some TE37SLs (pressed graphite finish) for my car.

I know that for 18's (in 5x100), they come in the following sizes:

18x8.5 +45
18x9.0 +45
18x9.5 +45

I definitely want to maintain a square setup. Also, I feel that 18x9.5 are way too wide for the front (too much poke).

So I guess the question is, should I go with 8.5 width all around or 9.0 width all around?

Tires will probably be a 245/35/18 if I run 9's, or a 225/40/18 if I run 8.5's... not really into that stretched look.

Thanks in advance!

Brian
