I must have missed that thread. But I will say that I've always gone by "quick" as meaning quick acceleration and "fast" as meaning a fast top speed.

Let's keep this debate alive...Is it rice if you invest more money into the upgrades on the car than the actual value of the car? Like a civic slammed to the floor with 17s or 18s? Or the opposite a crown vic raised sittin on 24s.

![]() On the other hand, it's possible to spend money on mods for an economical car that actually improve it. A friend of mine has a downright stunning Accord that he adds mods to as his budget allows. I never thought I'd use the word "stunning" to describe an Accord, but his car really looks amazing. He didn't have much money for the purchase, but he makes do with what he has and saves up for his mods one by one. Definitely not rice.

To answer the question: The word "Rice" was originally made from rednecks who labeled import cars that were made in Japan. These cars had big exhaust and were obnoxiously loud, hence the word "Riceburner".
As time goes by, people started changing the word "rice" to this weird acronym to get away from being burned by the import crowd and followers have been.... well... following that trend ever since.
