I would like to have this ability. In my WRX I usually put it to acc for the couple seconds it takes for the engine to stop spinning, then shut off and take the key out. In the BRZ I hit the button and have to listen to the final last gasps/chirps of the engine before I can let the clutch out. I think they should just make it so the radio stays on until you open the driver door like other cars have.

Yeah, I can agree with this issue... Sometimes I have to wait (Ok I'm married so I'm ALWAYS waiting on the wife for something) and instead of leaving the car running I'd like to cut it off and listen to music. Our Kia will let you turn the car off and then if you immediately hit the button again (without brake pedal pressed) it would jump right into ACC without powering down everything. Subie just needs to put a time delay on the radio shutting off when the car's power is cut. I wonder if you could mod this to stay on the same amount of time that the power windows stay active???

I believe what the OP is trying to say is - he wants a way to have the car default to acc instead of shutting down all the way (reaching destination). what you are referring to is coming from a cold start. I was curious about this myself as usually like to take a few minutes to listen to the track(s) and clear my mind before a long days work. |

Keyless start button: how to put it in ACC mode?

I guess we'll have to live with it for now. Last edited by JSUB; 11-07-2012 at 03:06 PM. Reason: forgot quote |

I stalled once
![]() It stays in on mode (as if you had pushed the button twice without pressing the clutch) then if you press the clutch and hit the button again it starts the engine. |

I was just curious as to how stalling was essential to the OPs issue. |

Good to know I'm not the only one annoyed with this. I usually sit in my car when I get back from lunch and read while listening to music. It would be really nice to just hold the button or something to switch the engine off but stay in ACC mode.
No idea how it was done, but I know a guy who rigged up his Civic to keep the stereo on until he opened AND THEN CLOSED the driver's door. Some relay madness, I'm sure, but he's a lot better with wiring than I am. Could have even been part of the alarm features for all I know.
