Here is my setup:
Yeah people forget how heavy sliders and bases are and how much expense they add. They can also end up raising the seat higher than you want unless you get a lower profile base like the Nagisa ones. I used fixed ones in my other car that I didn't daily drive but I couldn't imagine not using sliders in a car I drive more often.

That Takata seat looks like an exact copy of Cobra's Misano seat.

They are the same seats. But with a Takata logo and green stitching! Definitely worth the extra $500.

Exactly... To get an articulating seat w/ silders may end up weighing almost as much as the OEM seats.

Expense > benefit, in above scenario, it seems?

You realise that won't be legal?

If articulating is a requirement then yes.

I'm looking at doing all the other major weight reduction before seats. I like the stock seats quite a bit, so much so I don't even use a CG Lock like I normally would and have sitting in the garage.

Could you elaborate on how to legally get an aftermarket seat into the 86/BRZ? I thought it was not legal to remove any airbags. I have a Cobra Suzuka in my existing car and is the only thing I will miss.

oh well you will need to buy an airbag equipped seat if you want to register it on the roads.
I plan to just put my seat in for the racetrack as i do not want to cause unnecessary wear to the seat due to regular use.

after having this seat in my cars for about 3 years and then going to recaros, i prefer the recaros 90% of the time. easier to live with.

just get a nagisa low rail like i am going to do and then run the cobra at trackdays.
