I've been visiting Southwest Florida for over 30 years, and the roads are a bummer, but I do like causeways at least! Seriously, down there I might prefer something like a Mustang GT. At least you have no downside to RWD.

As for NYC folks, head over to back country Greenwich, CT and the Bedford, NY area. There are some incredible roads, like Cat Rock Rd. in Greenwich. Most are residential, so you can't go completely nuts, but it's fun driving nonetheless, and a small, light, agile car is ideal.

Nope.

Honestly I avoid Harbor road. If I do take it I try not to go more than 10 over.

It's right in the heart of the suburbs.

Driveways = kids, and I have a BIG problem with people who speed around kids.

Beautiful finish to that road though.

I live literally across the street from Manistee National Forest, great roads there! Also I'm 10 minutes from Lake Michigan which has some great winding roads along the lakeshore =] so i'm pretty set where I am!

Yea, that's what I was getting at with the word "safer"... I dont want to put any of those people in danger. I've only been there twice, both times at night, so I really had no idea it was a neighborhood until that friday. Oh well, northern state is entertaining at 70+ lol

Nice pic btw, I've never seen it in the daylight lol

I grew up in an area where there were nice hills to the South and flat farm-land to North.

So when I was a kid it was all muscle cars, fast in a straight line was what was cool pushing thru the flat farm-land, but my Dad would take his little BMW south and drive the hill country. So I thought I was cool driving a Chevelle and would secretely go explore the south when I could sneak out the little BMW.

Now I live in the foot hills of the Appalacians for the last 10 years. Pure windy hill country curves. First an 85 Jetta, did nice but couldn't afford the maintenance.
Then a 93 Civic, loved the car. It was perfect except for the FWD. In 2009 I made a mistake, it was clash for clunkers and I bought my first new car: Yaris. Mainly went with the Yaris because of the "rumors" of a Toyota RWD sports coupe (I had a $1k Police Interceptor for fun.)

I could never get used to driving the Yaris, its like driving a minivan.

I finally found an FR-S on labor day it just fits like a glove for this area, its perfect. I love the way the flat-four can cruise. There are deserted dirt roads a few miles from me for having fun with the car. Its just about perfect for this area.

No desire to move in the slightest. We even have what is essentially a test track(deserted twisty bit) 1 mile from my place to put any car through its paces. Driven everything from a Gallardo to a Raptor through there.
