My 2011 V6 can burnout just as much as a GT, with my Roush exhaust sounds just as mean, and for stance? It's the same exact car on the outside minus the 5.0 badges.
Don't GT's only cost a bit more than V6's? I couldn't buy the V6 without thinking I was getting some kind of consolation prize...

The difference is actually quite a bit, for the 2013 Mustang it is $8k MSRP, $7k invoice between the base V6 and base GT

That's the shitty thing about owning a car of a lower trim. I had a WRX and people asked me if it was a STI. It sounds like all of a sudden they aren't much interested in what you have to say.

If there's ever a sti/turbo 86, I'll have to face that stupid question all over again
I get this question a lot and most people know there isn't a lower trim of the car yet (and by most people I mean ones who pay attention to cars). Oh well. Still love the thing.

obviously my choice is the FRS/BRZ nothing to do with track times 0-60 what package comes with what. its all about the heritage the soul and the essence of the car. it has a great history and i love what it stands for its just wonderful.

I've taken both around a track and they are pretty evenly matched but mustang parts are cheaper if they wanted to put better suspension intake or exhaust they are spending a lot less money and with a lower payment than us the people that mod a mustang like most of us are doing to their 86 can have a good track car for cheaper than us.

Not sure if they fixed it or not yet I use to work for GM and when this happened to us we would have a different company make them and them recall and replace. This is kinda the same thing that is going on with our fuel pumps I'm personally on my second bad one. It will take time to sort them out and get all good ones.

Yes if you find one sitting from last year versus ordering a new v6 with track pack but then you can't even pretend to be driving a "semi fuel efficient car" and even though Ford says you'll get 26 MPG, the truth is you might get 19-20MPG and you will be happy to get that much.

Of course if you get the v6 Mustang w/ track pack(unless you want the much slower base car ) you're not going to get the "magical" 30MPG anyway...

Why did I post here? I'm just torturing myself talking about comparing the Mustang vs the Twins...

Size: 167.2 KBWell, new on here. I drive a 2012 Mustang 3.7 V6 now. It's got quite a bit of suspension mods, cold air and is tuned. But I've been keeping eyes on the BRZ/FRS since last year and I finally got the opportunity to test drive one (a BRZ). I was pleasantly surprised with the car. The handling in my stang was no comparison to the BRZ. I know a lot of people complain of the lack of power in the BRZ but I honestly didn't think it was too bad. Sure it was just a 10min test drive but I though the power was decent for a 2.0L. Full exhaust, cold air and a dyno tune I'm sure would be a very nice improvement. A vortech wouldn't hurt either and would definitely be on my list. My only complaint would be the interior. My Mustangs interior was much better (besides the seats). Seemed a bit cheap but it had all the goodies such as nav, climate control, heated seats, usb, etc... Much more then my Nissan Versa has (most basic model). So I really can't complain too much about that. I'm really not sure why it has back seats? Should just have to imo but I'm sure people with a baby appreciate them. Trunk space was very small as well. But I could live w/o since I have another car for that but would be disappointing if I wanted a weekend trip somewhere. Overall, it drove much better then my Stang and really enjoyed it more. I'd say my stang is a more comfortable ride, especially on long trips (because of all the interior space. It's quite roomy) Looks, I'd give to my Stang but I prefer how small the BRZ is. New wheels and a drop would be perfect on the BRZ. I'm definitely considering the swap but it's not an easy choice.

Just wanted to make a quick comment on the bolded. You actually get round about 22-25 depending on driving habits. My buddies 5.0 got round about that before he started the modifications, granted he drove like he had some semblance of sanity. More than I could say if I had one , would probably live in the triple digits.

+1. My average in my 3.7 is around 22-24. That's 90% highway, cruise control set at 70mph whenever I could use it. I would floor it on an on-ramp or when passing a vehicle. But besides that, pretty conservative driving. The most I ever saw was around 26mpg's but that didn't last long lol. But, I do no many who get high 20's and even low 30's. Don't ask me how they do it because I never could.

There are always people on forums that say they get 10 mpg more than EPA while driving with a lead foot and 5 passengers.

If you want to see what you can expect just throw up a poll and see the average others are getting, you will probably end up around that.
