Brought my car in on Saturday to get my tail light replaced and also told them about the fuel pump squealing. They checked out and ordered a new fuel pump. Hopefully, it doesn't take as long as my tail light to come in. It took over 6 weeks -_-

They claim that the fuel pump is not compatible with the old ECU, I suspect this is bogus because it does not make sense they should be able to use the existing ECU. Scion of America is now involved and I am hoping to have my BRAND NEW car back soon... I think we need to send a notice in that toyota needs to start teaching its technicians about our cars, the dealer doesnt seem to know more than the fact that car is called an FR-S.. did I mention they were unaware of the TSB in the first place? I brought in a printed copy to enlighten them.

My fuel pump was ordered today. I have no dashboard and most of the interior out of the car, so we'll see how this goes... hopefully I have my car back together before the pump comes in.

I'm still fighting with Scion and the dealer on this. Scion was not very helpful. Dealership says they can hear the chirp but it's not loud enough to warrant replacement. The TSB does not define a decibel level and frequency band so I'm not sure how they define not loud enough. The people at the second level of the scion call center were not very helpful. My car will likely be put away for winter in a few weeks so I will likely just deal with it in the sprint. The dealership looked at my car like it was from outer space so I would prefer my car isn't the first they do this swap on.

Well, I'm back in the shop for the cricket noise. Had my high pressure pump replaced to no avail. Toyota just called me to let me know that another part has been ordered cause they now know what the problem is. Let's see if I have to go back for a THIRD time.

Getting my car checked out for cricket noise (HPFP). Let's see how this goes... I also get a weird ticking noise under the hood when idling in Drive. Doesn't tick when in Park or Neutral. Must be in Drive, holding brake down... click click click click click about a half second apart... weird... wonder what THAT could be...

Had the fix done yesterday. Had the Visconti tune. I returned to the stock tune tonight and the chirp came back the second I started the car from the flash.

So if they have replaced the pump and that didn't do but they now know, would you be so kind to share with the rest of us what it is they now know once you find that out.

Please and thank you.

I brought my car in a week ago to get an oil change and have my taillights checked out as well as the chirping. They told me then that they would order new taillights and a fuel pump.

Fast forward a week when I bring my car in to have these replacements done. My taillights were replaced no problem. But the serviceman told me that "There is only a Subaru TSB out so until Scion releases one we cannot replace the fuel pump."... I told him I had the Scion TSB in hand and could direct them where to find it (was on the phone). He then said "Oh, well even if it is out, we are not able to order the parts because the parts are Subaru parts and we cannot order those under warranty." O.O
I persisted and got nowhere...

Anyone else have this issue?

I'm somewhere between 600 & 700 miles post pump replacement. The crickets have returned and they are not happy that I attempted to remove them.

Mine goes in on saturday for this. My dealer just took my word over the phone and ordered the parts without even seeing the car.

Does anyone have the TSB for the ECU flash? They could not find it.

But isn't it preventative? So how does that make sense? How can you have a case if you are supposed to do it before the issue happens?
