i had it mine about 600 miles. I ignored it, up until 1000 miles. I got irritated and I was going to make an appt to the dealer. but before that, im using chevron gas, and then 1 day I almost run out of gas and shell gas was the closest gas station on my place. So I filled full tank. next day, chirping sound was gone, idk why lol. since then, I have 1400 miles now, still no chirping sound. I hope it stay that way

Well I thought I was in the clear after I got the TSB done and managed to get about 800 miles before they came back...at this point I'm just gonna live with them, hopefully the turbo kit and exhaust will drown out the engine chirps...

Brought my car in to the dealership yesterday and showed them the TSB. The chirping has been documented in previous services so there wasn't much dispute on their end. They said they would order the part Monday and it would take about a week to get. In the meantime I'm sitting with a Airaid intake still in the box. I hope the new Fuel Pump fixes the issue. I've heard of people getting their ECU's re-flashed to fix this issue as well. Can anyone chime in? Should I ask my dealer to do this?

Just our of curiosity....

My Subaru BRZ dealership ordered the parts - that was 3 weeks ago. I called again for the 3rd time and they said the pump and a few other parts are still on backorder.

Any way you guys can help me out?

This probably won't be of much help but you're not the only one who is getting the back order story. I can't even get a hold of the service manager at the dealership that I dropped my car off. Keep saying they'll call me back and they never do. I find it odd that some people are getting told the parts are on back order, and others either have their car fixed in the same day (understandable if the dealership had the part) or the parts are there within a few days. Even my service rep can't give me a date because they don't know.

I went to a Subaru dealer to buy the wheel locks. The parts guy told me they didn't exist and that they wouldn't be available until next year..

Went to a 2nd Subaru dealer to buy the wheel locks. The parts guy reached behin him, grabbed the wheel locks and handed them to me.

Same day, different dealers, different experiences. There just seems to be so much confusion at some of these places.

True story. I wish I could have brought my car back to the original dealership that I bought it at. Have bought five cars from them and we know the majority of the staff there. Amazing people. Oh well. Gotta work with what you're given.

Gotta remember that most of the time these guys deal with Corollas and Outbacks that need routine maintenance. They are probably not used to this level or volume of enthusiasts coming in and out. Not to mention all the unknowns about this platform. I would expect Subaru to be more on top considering they are pushing boxer equipped STI's out the door all the time, but I guess that's a small population of cars as well.

This makes me laugh. When I bought my car back in July I was told there were no wheel locks. Then later (same day/same hour!) that they had them and they would cost $75. So I told them I would pay them $28 for them (I read that Subaru's costs are $28 for wheel locks) and they just said yes. Go figure...
