How do you like your 17x8 ?
im thinking of going to 17x8 rim and appropriate tire -- not asking specifically about how you like your tires on 8" wide - but overall how did it change your driving / handling / daily driving / suspension...
im still thinking just doing 17x7.5 and keep it as close to the original stock setup as possible but jsut asking how you guys like your x8 +45/48 setups....

I like my 17x8 +48 w/ 235/45/17. They track a lot better and you definitely feel more planted over stock. One thing I didn't expect w/the setup is the drop in fuel economy...my guess is about 4-5mpg. I've only put a few hundred miles on this setup so hopefully that improves but I'm pleased with it overall.

Did you account for the speedo inaccuracy due to the larger diameter tires? Your actual mpg should not really be much different. The mpg based on the speedo data will appear lower than reality. 235/40 is a bit closer to stock diameter. 245/40 is almost exactly stock diameter (but better suited for a 9" rim) |

Yeah, even if i factor in the ~3% difference in diameter, i still come up short on the gas mileage. The mileage isn't bad but it isn't what it use to be. Oh well...

Also check your tire pressure. 5 mpg is a really big difference for such a small increase in tire size. Also curious what wheels and tires you're running.

I've only put about 70 miles on my 17x8 +37 wheels, but I'm very happy so far.
I'm also running 225/45/17 Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Very quiet, light, and sticky tire. |
