17x8 +35, will it rub?

I'm thinking of getting Enkei SC03 17x8 +35, 225/45 tires all around, 20mm drop, cambered for even tread wear. Will it rub?

No. You lose NO inner clearance to the strut. You're extended from the stock position by about 26mm so you could run into problems with the fender if you're lowered aggressively.

Thanks. So if I'm lowered 1" there's a chance I'll hit the fender on some dips/bumps?

I'm also trying to grasp why TRD and STI keep their wheels at 7.5" width +46mm or +48mm offset. Is it because more aggressive offsets cause asphalt/rocks to kick up against the body panels?

Speaking for STI: So that their product fits multiple Subaru models, maximizing sales.

I'm not sure if you'll hit bumps, it's something to keep in mind. Your sidewall height is actually LOWER versus stock (1/4 inch total diameter difference). I doubt you'll run into problems.

EDIT: Do you mean 225/45? I can't find anything aside from some Hoosier racing tires in 225/40. 225/45 is a tad bit taller than 215/45, but I still doubt you'll run into problems with fender clearance.

225/45/17 square and that will fit fine.

Thanks for all the input, I meant 225/45. I used a ruler to eyeball the clearance between the front fender and tire sidewall (offset-wise) and it looks around 24 mm (then again that's rough eyeballing). I like how these wheels look but it seems too close for comfort.

When I look up wheels that fit this car (on tirerack, for instance) I don't see any +35 offset wheels regardless of width. Is anyone out there actually running something like this?

I've seen one or two people on the forum running +35, can't recall if they're lowered or not. I'll be running 17x8 +38 when I get the car and that seems to be a good number for the "low" offset crowd. You typically don't see mass-market low-offset Subaru wheels, hence your difficulty in finding any. For reference, I have to special order my wheels because while they ARE offered in +38, they simply keep no stock of that offset.

I'm running 17x8 +34 with 245/40 tires. No rub. I plan on a 20-30mm drop and don't expect any rubbing.
