My situation:
I want a red but I have to pay MSRP and travel 153 miles compared to my second choice of WRB that is local and will give $750 discount.
I drove over 1,200 to get the color I wanted. Ended up with WRB. Glad I did.

Personally, I keep my cars forever. I don't ever plan on selling it and I want a color I love. And if i'm spending $30k, I want the exact trim/color...no BSing around.

Silver with no wing were the most important things for me. The body just looks so good. Constantly getting compliments on the car in fact a project manager just came up stairs and she told me how hot my car looks.

Up till now I haven't had any idle problems but this morning running some errands before work uh oh, some crazy idle patterns even when warm with no A/C on.

For me it was pretty much white with red as a 2nd choice or nothing. I wouldn't have minded paying more or having to travel to get my first choice.

Drove 300 miles just to show my wife the WRB to make sure she liked it so we could order it next year. Well, she liked it a little to much and we ended up buying it!

For me color choice always comes down to colors I want to live with vs colors I don't want to. I can't be too picky on color because I prefer to buy cars lightly used and you have to jump on a deal if you find one.

On the BRZ the colors I wanted in order were SWP, WRB, SSM, and Red. The colors I didn't want were GBS, DGM, and Black. Nothing wrong with those colors I just don't have the time to keep a dark color like those clean.

So to answer the OP, I ended up flying 750ish miles from NC to Boston to pick up a used SSM BRZ with 1420 miles on the clock and driving her back.

I definitely need to get the color I want, lucky for my on the BRZ there were several colors that I wanted. I ended up going with WRB, even though it's a bit boring when you go to Subaru meets since everyone has a WRB car, when you are out on the open road there are very few WRB cars out there. I like standing out!

Not red. I'm not a Ferrari wanabe. I prefer silver, a Porsche wannabe.
